So here are my impressions of setup. First of all all of the cables and cords are very high quality. The system initially did not recognize my wireless network (my 360 did not like it at all). The system update would not download and locked up. After turning everything off and on, it downloaded in 30 minutes. Voice command works very well, and the only problems with it were attributed to operator error. The setup of my cable box (comcast) worked fine. It was then sent to my pioneer elite receiver then to tv, also a pioneer elite. Everything controls perfectly, and there were no problems with 7.1 sound. It did not have my specific receiver on the menu, but I picked one close to it, and it works great. The games take forever to download the required updates. It took Forza about 15 minutes to be able to play. Ryse is taking very long. As to Forza...oh my. I heard somebody comment that it looked to much like Forza 4 on the 360. Have to disagree. It looks and plays amazing. I also think the controllers are a big improvement, and the feedback in the triggers helped while driving. As i was typing this, it notified my that Ryse is ready to play. So far, everything works as advertized, but the reliance on the internet makesa few things take longer than I would like, but it seems like it is due to volume. I was impressed that it recognized and functions well with a niche tv and reciever. My cable box is a pain in the butt to use, but with the one it is easier. So far, very high marks but plan on setup taking a while.

I was just to post to see what others are doing. Utilizing the built-in patterns and a W1070 with the HDMI setting o "Auto" I cannot see the closed eye at the top but the bottom shows open and the blacks look black. If I flip it to a PC sigal which will display 0-255 I can see the top closed eye but everythig looks exremely washed out. Setting my RGB levels to Limited or Expanded makes no difference as to whether or not I can see the top eye, only changing the signal at the projetor itself.

Right now I have mine set to RGB Limited utilizing a "VIdeo" signal along with 30-bit depth. This should be correct for my projector but the built-in pattern does not display correctly for black levels.

I believe the PS4 has this issue as well

My Panny 65VT60 has the HDMI/DVI/RGB Range at Auto other choices are Nonstandard and Standard 16-235

If I leave it at Auto on my tv and RGB Limited on the xbox then the direct tv feed going into the xbox 1 looks washed out

The games look fine...But when I put the panny to 16-235 the direct tv feed looks perfect but gaming has crushed blacks.

This sucks

Sorry for all the spelling errors a min ago, was in a hurry. My PS4 has issues as well with the W1070 but I decided to stop worrying about it and let it on RGB Limited with an "Auto" signal on the projector. I tried to calibrate using the AVS disc last weekend to touch up my colors and no matter what I did I was getting color blowout to where increasing Saturation or Hue made no difference in the numbers I was seeing with my meter. I've read previously that this has something to do with the signal between the console and the projector and most recommended setting it to RGB Limited with a "PC Signal" but everything looks horrible this way.

Just had to do a hard reset... I was in the game menu and the screen reloaded then rebooted from standby. After the reboot kinect voice recognition didn't work and drilling down into a home screen selection would freeze the machine. I would have to put the one in standby and back on. After BF4 finished downloading I long pressed the power button until it rebooted from off. voice recognition works and menu selections are working as well. Just makes me curious is all.

Finally! UPS guy was here 20 min ago. No text. No doorbell. The only way I found out was that I was refreshing the tracking page every 10 min. Took a couple of tries to connect to my wireless network, but downloading updates now....

My only disappointment so far is how long it takes to install the games off of the discs. Ryse took awhile, and so far COD Ghosts is at 6% and no option to play yet. I am a bit bummed that there is no option (hopefully down the road) that we can choose to have have discs out after it is installed (I'm willing to have some form of DRM for this since I do not trade in games or sell).

For kicks I hooked my 360 into the One and use the 360s Media Center Extender function. I can get TV to show but the One's IR commands do work to well in controlling media center for me. Will have to play around more with this.

Consider the unparalleled advantage, of a natural disaster that's impossible to manage.

Got the One at 2:10 today and ran some errands while letting it get to room temp and finally have it set up. It's been a great experience so far. Voice commands work great and the system is quick to respond.

I know this has been covered but I can't find it now. Is there a way to set the One up to have audio pass through? I've got a 9.2 setup and am missing my front presence speakers now. Anyone have any ideas?

Now to try some games. Thanks!

Never mind. I took care of business on my receiver. Kind of a DUH moment!

No option to exit out of a game straight to dashboard - for instance to exit a COD game and lobbies without hitting B half a dozen times.

No option to eject a disc without getting up and hitting the sensor.

Couple of questions:

1) Are the three red lights on the Kinect always on?

2) Any reason to keep my stand-alone blu-ray player?

Mathematics is the reason for the season.

Does the Xbone do HDMI passthrough? I'm reading mixed signals on this on the web. Also, for the HTPC features, can it call up things like Comcast On Demand?

After being stuck in Shipping Now limbo at Amazon for more than 24 hours, my status updated to shipped with a delivery of 11/23. I checked FedEx and its actually a Priority Overnight. eek.gif

Looks like I may get it tonight and if so Amazon really pulled a hat trick on this one!

At the rate this day one download is progressing I won't be able to set this thing up until next week.

The most frustrating part is that I need to baby sit it because after every 1-2mb it times out and tells me that there was a problem with the update. Sometimes it resumes on its own, sometimes it doesn't. It's so aggravating.

Yeah, they have to be getting absolutely hammered right now. Even if my box shows up tonight, its 20 something degrees outside. I won't be able to turn it on for several hours so I may not get to play until tomorrow sometime. mad.gif

Even though I haven't been able to try it with a game yet, I can't say I'm digging the controller. The analog sticks seem much improved but that's about it. The bumpers are awful, there's no space between them and the triggers, and they just don't align well with my long fingers. My fingertips reach past where they curve down and they basically swoop down away from me, and they're difficult to press from that angle. The triggers have almost no resistance and it feels like a shorter throw than before. Something about the face buttons feels cheaper, the options button is way too close to the right analog stick. The dpad is shallow and clicky.

It's not that it's a bad controller per se, it just feels like everything but the sticks is a downgrade from the 360 controller.

Let me preface this first.

I love my PS4. We are going to have a nice long relationship.

Having said that, with all this talk about how the PS4 has superior hardware (and there is no denying that), I can't help but think to myself "why doesn't the PS4 do this?"

Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Both consoles have their perk's, but if I had to purchase one console right now, it would be the One now and get a PS4 later when Naughty Dog releases their title.

My PC can do what the PS4 currently does. My PC cannot do what the X1 does quite the same way.

Just my .02.

My Xbox One is reporting a latency of 114ms for my network...way higher than speedtest reports. Normal?

Finally got mine up and running SW update took forever. Id like to see em add YCBCR colorspace instead of just RGB. Also find it odd they dont offer a "bitstream" setting for audio. I have to blu-ray for either 5.1 or 7.1 lossless PCM, unless I am missing something.
