it's not an app update. it's a new download for a new app. it even lets you take a screenshot of the thing you want to comment on (though I have no clue how to modify the screenshot). my message contained a code which gives you the app download.

I'd like to see the friends list be a whole lot friendlier to use. It's kind of ridiculous that if you're watching tv or playing a game and you want to see what your friends are doing, your current activity must stop in order for the friends app to open up. Why can't there be a simple little window that just opens up so you can quickly see what your friends are doing?

Yes it seems odd that you can't snap the friends list. Although you can be on the Friends list and Snap TV etc. You can't be watching TV and Snap the Friends list.

Simplify, simplify, simplify. Doesn't that seem like way too many steps just to see who's on? Gotta say I prefer the simplicity of the 360. Hopefully MS will correct this over time.

it takes like literally 2 seconds... "Xbox, snap activity." "favorites"
it actually takes longer with a controller.

PS4 has been in stock around Albany NY since late January. I have always suspected the scarcity was a major city issue.

I guess it all depends on what constitutes a friend. if you're the type to have 600 facebook friends, 500 xbox friends, etc., would you want to see a list of 500 xbox friends to look through?

if you're the type to have a very small friends list, then yes, it would be advantageous to see all your friends at once... but if you have a small friends list, it wouldn't take long to make all of them favorites...

congrats you figured it out, sony loyalist have tricked everyone into thinking there were no ps4's to buy, so people wouldn't buy more ps4's?? also no one has been smart enough to actually call the stores themselves and also both my sister and brother work at gamestop and they are part of the conspiracy, they haven't had any ps4's because they hide them where no one can find them.. also the Canadians are the worst about it, they have been "claiming" there are pretty much no ps4's at all in Canada..

This website works really well with the xbox: https://flipboard.com/magazines/

It has different views when in full mode or in snap. Try it out!

The Kinect has a hearing problem and it's a pain in the ass to use. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Even in that video you posted a couple of weeks ago about some of the great things you can do with Kinect it shows you have to speak in a much louder voice than normal. What if your women or child is sleeping next to you ? Do you want to be the idiot waking them up by yelling "Xbox snap activities", "Go to friends"? I sure don't.

In my experience, it all depends on how high the volume is turned up on your home theater. If I'm listening at moderate volume levels (TV or late-night gaming), then Kinect voice controls work 99% of the time. If the family is away, and I crank it up for a blu-ray or a spirited session of Titanfall, I have to yell pretty loud for Kinect to hear me.

Mine works pretty consistently, and without speaking loudly.

Mine would break down every time the HVAC turned on. I'd literally have to shout. And yes, I tried calibrating with the HVAC on and off, with the receiver turned up etc....nothing made a difference.

I've reset my Kinect multiple times and it continues to underperform. It maybe works 50% of the time and when it gets the command wrong it reealllly gets it wrong. Its gotten to where I really won't use it, especially when others are around. It's embarassing to be in front of other people trying to show off the technology and it fails to work. Ironically it seems to work better on my old 360...

Yup the entire San Francisco Bay Area region of Fry's and Best Buy are in on it. They actually are holding thousands upon thousands of PS4's in stock in secret bunkers while pretending to not have any in stock.. Just waiting until the right moment to send them back to Sony due to lack of demand.

It's funny how people have had such different experiences with the kinect. The only time mine has problems is "xbox on" and "xbox watch [tv_channel]". I have to speak directly at the kinect and very deliberately for xbox on to work and it almost never gets the channel I want. Other than that, everyhting pretty much works first try. I guess it just has a lot to do with each user's individual environment.

All that being said, I think it will get better with software updates. I don't think the problem is with the hardware itself.
