Are these "new " units? Or should we be checking? The noise in the video sounded like HDD noise.

I just recently had an issue (twice in the last week), where the fan will kick on full bore for about 30 seconds and then die down. I've owned this xbox one since day 1 and never had this issue until now. Granted I have been playing more games recently, but still is very concerning when I am hearing other reports of problems.

I too have noticed fans kicking on lately. (never even heard them before this...) I wonder if there was something addressed in the latest update, that monitors internal temps more frequently?

Not sure of the cause of the noise on my unit but it didn't seem like the fan was the cause.

Word on the web is that it is power coil that is use to getting more voltage then it is use to(Kinectless units)

http://www.reddit.com/r/xboxone/comm...efective_coil/

Simple fix is to plug in a Kinect..or get the console replaced.

I submitted mine and got a shipping label. Will ship it out early next week after I binge on Destiny this weekend.

There was specifically a quest about the controller firmware update, I wonder if it was like a dummy update to just test the procedure (and then not included later on). Not sure.

Well checked last night and this morning. Noise is gone. Might cancel the repair since I am having too much fun IE addiction to DESTINY.

IMO I would go ahead and swap it out since it existed. Better now than later.

Not a perfect implementation, but if you have the HD Home Run with DLNA the Xbox One will now, Previews only, stream it. Some one posted a video of the functionality.

Someone at Reddit posted up a mini walk through of the Digital Tuner functionality. The One Guide was able to mix the free OTA content with Cable/Satellite information.

anyone ever have problems connecting to or sending game or party invites between a beta dashboard and the regular?

last night, my friend and I just could not connect to play Minecraft together. The only thing I could think of was I have the beta dash and he never enrolled in the program. our NATs were open. I couldn't join his world. He couldn't join my world. Got error messages. I couldn't even send a game invite. He would never get the invite.

we were in party together so I have no idea what was happening. I thought of us exiting the party and then starting it all over again. it wasn't just Minecraft. He couldn't receive invites for Crimson Dragon either. We don't have a lot of games in common and he didn't have much time to diagnose.

I don't know. I'm going to cold boot since I haven't cold booted in weeks. I'll have him do the same.

nm... it must have been some network glitch. or cold booting fixed it... will never know...

Hello Xbox One owners,

I just impulsively jumped on the XBox One deal and got the Madden Bundle and free title of Forza Motorsport.

For reference, I have 2 PS3s and 2 PS4s. 1 of each belongs to the kids, and 1 of each is mine. So traditionally I have been Sony. IN any case my question pertains to the way XBox Live works vs. the way PlayStation Plus works between consoles, and users.

In short, my question is if I eventually get another XBox One, can I buy games on my account, and as long as I am a user on the kids machine, they can play anything I buy, and will I have to pay for more than one XBox Live Gold account if we all want to play online with our own "user IDs"?

Similarly, if we share this one console, and I pay for XBox Live Gold with my ID, will the kids be able to play multiplayer on this console with their own "user ID."

Hopefully I didn't make that more confusing than it needs to be. The short version of that is does XBox Live work like PS Plus, when it comes to accounts and multiple machines and multiplayer? I'm sure the answer is on here somewhere, and I'll go to the XBox site to check, but I'm sure many are already doing, or have already tried doing what I am asking.

Whew....lastly, if I do keep this, I'm not really into Madden, so if anyone is interested in buying this digital code, PM me please.

Thanks in advance.

My understanding, and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, is that you can set the xbox the kids use to be your gamertag's home xbox. Then, any gamertags on the kids' xbox will have have access to the games your gamertag buys (as long as they are digital purchases - physical disks will need to be in an xbox to play if you bought the disk rather than digital). The xbox live accounts on your gamertag's home xbox will also have gold capabilities. So as long as you make the kids' xbox your gamertag's home xbox and buy your games digitally, your kids will not need an xbox live gold account to play on their xbox and they will have access to your games.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence

Thanks Mrlittlejeans!

It looks like it now works the same way as PS Plus.

For anyone else considering buying the console, I found answers here:

are messages always snapped now IM-style conversations? you can't do full-screen anymore? this is for people that have the beta dashboard...

playing with it now... i do like the snapped look. however, it causes the main snap to launch my last thing. so it could be the bluray player or a game or netflix.

I happened to have my PC and Xbox One both running the CBS football game. Never realized how Windows Media Center would be a second or so behind the One. I guess it's because WMC has the live buffer in case you want to record.

These new updates are adding a lot of stuff which is welcomed, but the console also feels glitchy and more than the usual.
