Yes!

Q: If I buy the PS4 or Xbox One game digitally, am I still eligible for this offer?
A: Yes. Disc or digital, your choice.

Here's the rest of the FAQ if anyone's interested:

Q: Which Jimi Hendrix songs are being released?

A: The 12 legendary Jimi Hendrix songs coming to Rocksmith 2014 are:
· Bold As Love
· Castles Made Of Sand
· Fire
· Foxey Lady
· Freedom
· If 6 Was 9
· Little Wing
· Manic Depression
· Purple Haze
· Red House
· The Wind Cries Mary
· Voodoo Child (Slight Return)

Q: When will the songs be available?
A: All 12 songs are scheduled for release in mid-December on all six platforms: PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, and Mac.

Q: How do I get this stuff for free?
A: Starting on December 16, 2014, all 12 songs will be available as a free download in the in-game shop for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game. You will only be able to download these songs for free through the in-game shop.

Q: Is this a limited-time offer?
A: Yes. Anyone that owns a copy of Rocksmith 2014 for Xbox One or PlayStation 4 will be able to download the songs for free from the in-game shop from then through January 31, 2015. Starting on February 1, the songs will be available on PS4 and Xbox One at full price ($29.99 for a bundle of all 12 songs). The songs will be available for purchase on the other four platforms in mid-December as well.

Q: Where is this offer valid?
A: This offer is worldwide and is valid for anyone that purchases a copy of Rocksmith 2014 for Xbox One or PlayStation 4.

Q: Are there any other requirements to get these songs?
A: You must have your Xbox One or PlayStation 4 connected to the internet to be able to download the songs from the in-game shop. You will only be able to download these songs for free through the in-game shop.

Q: Do I need a code to get the free songs?
A: Nope. The songs will be available via the in-game shop as free song downloads in the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game through January 31, 2015. But keep in mind that you must download them via the in-game store; that’s the only place they will be free.

Q: If I already pre-ordered Rocksmith 2014 for Xbox One or PlayStation 4, am I still eligible for this offer?
A: Yes.

Q: If I buy the PS4 or Xbox One game digitally, am I still eligible for this offer?
A: Yes. Disc or digital, your choice.

Q: If I buy the game prior to January 31, 2015 but don’t download the songs in time, can I still get them for free?
A: No. You must download the songs prior to the end of the day on January 31, 2015. There is no grace period. You’ve got six weeks – plenty of time!

Q: So, wait – even though there was no upgrade pricing, you found a way to give me $30 of free content if I choose to move to one of the new console platforms?
A: See? We had a plan. Who loves ya, baby.

Q: I own the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3/PC/Mac version of the game. Am I eligible for this offer?
A: Not for the free offer, sorry -- it's only valid for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game. However, the Jimi Hendrix content is coming to all six platforms -- all 12 Jimi Hendrix songs will be available as paid DLC content on Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and Mac in December.

Q: If I get the PS4 edition of the game and download the Jimi Hendrix tracks, can I also play them on my PS3? How about Xbox One users who still play on Xbox 360?
A: No, sorry. The free offer is only for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the DLC. If you want to play it on your earlier console, that would be a separate purchase.

Q: Can I buy the songs as singles if I don’t want all 12?
A: Sure. This content will be available in three formats: a 12-pack, four 3-packs, and individual singles. You can mix and match any of those, though the packs will contain a price break compared to buying the tracks individually. The four 3-packs will break down as follows:
“Purple Haze”
“The Wind Cries Mary”
“Manic Depression”
“Foxey Lady”
“Bold As Love”
“Castles Made Of Sand”
“Little Wing”
“Freedom”
“Fire”
“If 6 was 9”
“Voodoo Child (Slight Return)”
“Red House”

Q: Twelve songs is a lot more than a normal pack. Why are you doing 12 songs?
A: Because we could! Jimi Hendrix is one of Rocksmith’s most requested artists overall, so when we approached the Hendrix estate and they were interested, we decided to go big. Most packs will continue to be 3 or 5 songs at a time, but Jimi Hendrix is one of the most influential guitarists is history, so it made sense.

Weird. I've never heard any crackling or popping with either of my X1's. My receivers are both Denons - a 3313 and an X4000.

Same here. No cracking or popping sounds. Actually, no audio issues whatsoever. My receiver is a Yamaha RX-A2020.

No pops or cracks here, connected through a Denon 2112ci via HDMI.

Although sometimes when I turn on the XB1, the sounds are very staticy - like over-driven digital noise. If I turn it off and back on, it always fixes it. I assumed this was some sort of handshaking issue.

I get some distortion noise sometimes when I turn it on as well (Onkyo AVR), but it only lasts a few seconds.

Hmm, maybe its poorly refurbed then. Seems like a software issue to me though, its digital audio, it would have to be a pretty strange hardware issue that manifested into three perfectly spaced PCM thumps. I would think any sort of hardware issue would come out as pure noise.

Yeah I can't figure out the issue with the cracking popping sound. I'm using the xbox hdmi cable, I've tried different hdmi ports, I may try a friends xbox at my house next to test if it's my xbox. I don't think the receiver is the issue either since it has a new hdmi board in via warranty work, and every other device works fine. Denon X2000

I was going to suggest that those with audio popping should try another receiver if possible. It could be your receivers isn't working with PCM correctly. I have zero issues with my denon 3313ci

Nothing was broken, it was a limitation of the chip. Even then, it's a stream. Channels can't get backwards in a stream. With the XB1 it's a little different since the XB1 decodes. They can and did get some things wrong that hopefully can be fixed with software.

Everything isn't software that can just be fixed. I've seen you in the media players section (Popcorn, Dune, Mede8er, ect) so you probably already know this. All players have a chipset and that sets constraints. For example, the mede8er chipset is always going to have an issue with forced subtitles. They can't just firmware update their way around that.

I did notice that if I start a game, press the Xbox button to put the game in the little background mode in the dashboard the meu popping cracking goes away. As soon as the game!e is closed or another app opened say like the settings app, the popping returns when navigating. There must be something going on with how the Xbox mixes audio and codecs or something.

I hope this all get resolve soon because right now this console is borderline the worst electronics purchase I've made this past decade. I'm worried my speakers are going to get damaged navigating the dashboard, at this point I'd be happy with a setting to just turn menu audio off....like the one the 360 had.
I use an admittedly buggy and cheap Samsung HW-C700 but PCM gives me audio drops and the subwoofer "thud" which accompanies every three to four system sounds. When I change it to DD and dts, the audio drops and thud go away. But about every other dashboard update DD and dts popping and scratching sounds appear/disappear. My best friend uses an Onkyo and he has no trouble with PCM but gets the DD and dts popping and scratching CONSTANTLY, and has since launch.

I don't recall ever hearing any thumping from my SVS subwoofer. Game audio has been great from my XBOnes using the 7.1 pcm output. I have no complaints about that.

I'm using a Denon receiver in my main setup with the SVS sub..

In my secondary setup I am using a Sony speaker bar with the XBOne 7.1 pcm output.

My HTPC is set to PCM (still haven't figured out how to set it to bitstream), and audio has been trouble free with that setup to the same receiver.

Game audio is fine, it's just when navigating the dashboard tile to tile every so often theres a crackling sound. It's very bizarre.

There's even a thread here about it, I'm not the only one with the issue

Every other device works fine with PCM in all three of my setups, the Xbox is the only device ever to cause me issues. I also had annoying HDMI issues with the 360, for whatever reason they can't seem to get this stuff right.

No that's a thought. The cable I was using was the same one that I used with my old Samsung BD-P1600 and never had any issues. I suppose it could be a compatibility issue with the Xbox One.

I am using bitstream with 9 speakers and 2 subs. I do not have the issue with channels mapped incorrectly on apps, games or BD's. Not that the issue doesn't exist, maybe the issue lies within the PCM settings, I have not tested that out.

The Avantage line is a sweet line for sure!

Issues with the HDMI cable seem to ring a bell. When I first got the One on day one, I was using the cable that I had used for my blu Ray player and I remember having some audio drops at that time. I switched it out and it's been smooth sailing ever since.

I was using the same cable that was doing 1080/60 just fine with everything else. I don't see a good reason why it should need a special cable unless it was doing something out of spec.

Cracking and popping sounds in audio in gaming and other systems I've owned often came from high gain output from an inadvertent open microphone setting. Or faulty volume switch (analog or digital). So I would check my gain settings on the setup menu, to see if feedback is occurring through other audio/mic circuits.

I wouldnt be surprised if that fixed either, but I already decided against keeping it and boxed it up already. I'll try again next year when it's $100 and comes with 7 free games.

HDMI cables are so cheaply made that I consider them disposable. Even if it works on one piece of kit doesn't mean it will work with another. If there is a small flaw limiting bandwidth somewhere, it might not show up using the cable with some equipment and will with others. I've run into this many times.

HDMI cables are really cheap these days. Get another and try it. If it works, you fixed it. If it doesn't, you've at least eliminated the cable as the source.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence

Just an observation and off topic, but I am disappointed thus far in the level of graphics the new consoles have offered or should I say developers have offered. I say this because I am playing a game from 2008 (brothers in arms hell's highway) and was surprised at how good it looked compared to current games. To the point where there is little to distinguish itself from the old title and the newer COD game with the exception of some cut scenes. I watched some of the original medal of honor series to determine if this trend would manifest itself in really old titles and saw a significant change in graphics from early 2000's to the 2008 game I was playing. Is this beause developers of triple A games use old game engines to get a better profit or have we reached the apex of what can be acheived graphically?

If you want graphics buy or build a gaming pc. My basic gaming rig has an i5 and a gtx 760, makes the ps4 and xbox one look like a joke graphically.

Have you actually played AW? I don't know how you can put that side by side with brothers in arms and not see progress.

Seriously put it side by side via youtube. There is a difference but very minor. Maybe its just me and what I consider to be good graphics, but a buddy and me were looking and were like wow, that isn't very different looking. I agree that PC graphics are better, but I would think Xbox One graphics should be better than 2008 Xbox 360 graphics, especially with the COD franchise.
