Is Microsoft now actually managing the online store / MicrosoftStore.com? As recently as a year ago, that was still being outsourced to Digital River.

This was a fantastic interview. Strongly encourage you to listen or watch it.

There are known issues with watching it on the IGN app. It might be fixed by now.
I opened it in IE and snapped that while playing Pool Fx. To get it to play in IE, I had to change the feed quality setting for some reason. If it doesn't play for you, try that.

Hey I have a question for you guys. I'm expanding the HD space for the one and I'm curious if I should get something like a crucial ssd and fit it with a caddy or just buy an external powered HDD and go that route. One is obviously cheaper but I'm wondering if the load time benefit of the ssd is worth it. Also not sure if the HDD saturates USB 3.0 bandwidth so an SsD external would be a waste. Anyone have any input on this?

Streaming Xbox One Games to any Windows 10 PC in the house RIGHT NOW in BETA mode is ****ing awesome!

They enabled the feature in W10 around E3 but I just got a chance to try it out this past week.

All you need is a PC loaded with the latest version of Windows 10 Preview and an Xbox One on the Preview Program.

Everything works great except for the fact that you will probably need a decent router and a wired controller connection which kinda sucks (I don't have a wireless XB1 adaptor, not yet).

All of this is FREE now. Better yet, everyone gets Windows 10 for free in about a month. WTF is MS thinking? I had plans to put an XB1 in every room just like last gen. Sure, a PC is required, but still.

I've been using the heck out of this lately. Even though I have two Xbox ones my son pretty much monopolize the TV these days. I have been able to play Xbox on my laptop while he watches his kid movies and it is great!

So, I've never played The Evil Within. I've never rented it, checked it out in the XBOX Marketplace, etc. Yet, today, it's showing up in my "Ready To Install" list. I've checked my transaction history and it's not there. Very weird. The install shows that it's the full game at around 35GB. Hmmm.

For what it's worth, I turned my One on today for the first time in a few weeks and downloaded a 2GB system update. I'm also in the preview program. Anyone else have something like that happen?

Yep, I got the same thing Brad. I thought maybe one of my kids ordered it by mistake with my account and checked my email for a purchase history and there was nothing there. I went ahead and installed it and it downloaded fine, but it will not run. I get a message that says please put in the disc, or switch to profile that bought the game. I have one other profile on mine that is a friends and he doesn't remember buying it either so looks like something glitched on MS's side. I'm most likely going to delete it off since it is taking 35GB of installed space now. It was a game I have been wanting to play, but not until it goes way cheap.

Thanks for the response. Sounds like a glitch. Who knows, it'll probably be on GWG in a year or so.

The Evil Within download is a bug that MS is looking into. You can read about it in the preview forums, but there's not much info other than that MS is aware that this game is being pushed out in error and they are working on a fix.

USB 3.0 maxes out at 5Gb/s(625MB/s). My fastest SSD will only hit around 4.4Gb/s(550MB/s) speeds. Now I'm not sure if the USB 3 ports on the XBOne will actually reach those speeds, but when I did have SSDs attached it id make a noticeable difference in speed.

But eventually I switched out my SSDs for 4TB, USB powered drives. Two 2.5" drives in a RAID0 that gets 220MB/s(1.76Gb/s) speeds. Each one I got cost half as much as the 1TB Samsung SSD I had been using with my main XBOne( I had also been using two Crucial 480GB SSDs in my secondary XBOne) The Seagate 4TB Backup Plus Fast Portable Drive at close to $200 is a great deal for the speed and all the storage it gives you.

I use one with each of my XBOnes now. I only wish I would have gone that router from the beginning instead of messing with the SSDs.

The Official Xbox One thread...

@aaronwt I appreciate the response. Very informative. I think I'll take you up on that and buy it. I'm not sure I will need 4tb but I'll explore the various options they have and prob settle around a 2tb drive.

Edit: I'm assuming unlike pcie drives the HDD attached seems to output very similar speeds. I do have one more question. How does the one handle file transfers. Is it large file transfer or multiple small file transfers? I'm curious as I'm going to research the fastest drive for the price. Some are better for large files and other for small so trying to narrow down the search.

I'm looking at this drive as it has great reviews and plenty of space for me at least.

It's about half the speed, read or write, of the Backup Plus Fast; they call it "Fast" for a reason. See the table on this page of the CNET review. It's a lot faster than most USB 3 powered drives and a lot cheaper than the SSD solution you were originally considering.

The Official Xbox One thread...

I see...didn't realize that the drive was 2 2TB drives in one pre set in raid 0. It all makes sense now. Thanks for the link. It's a little more storage then I think I will need but since they do not offer it in a lower storage option (that I can see) then I think it's what I will look out for....any chance this ever has hit slick deals? I don't see it but I'm assuming something will pop up eventually haha. Kinda on a budget lately....also Michaelscott just realized it was you from the P series forum. Props on being so helpful on so many different threads...it's always good to have members like you

I doubt that I will ever fill up the 4TB drive either. After plugging the drive in I moved everything which could be moved to it and have installed there by default since. I have 11 "major" (8GB or greater) and 19 "minor" games installed plus about 20 apps and I've used .8 TB, about 20% of the drive. I also have about 400 GB free on the internal drive. But having too little storage is a problem, not having more than you need .

Yes very true. And as I've stated in the past I wish I would have listened to you.

I'm still trying to re-purpose all the SSDs that I used to have attached to my XBOnes.
