I think most of the newer ones are around 8GB now or more are they not? I know when I first got mine it was only about 2GB

I wish I could trade my Day One Kinect for an Elite Controller.

Sadly, my Day One controller has just started experiencing right stick drift. And the Elite Controller isn't available 'til end of Oct.

It can't be much. SSHDs typically only have 8GB of flash. Maybe 16GB at most.

I've seen them range anywhere from 4-128GB. The most recent seagate and WD hybrids are 8GB.

I'd say it would need to be at least 32-64gb for it to have a sustained effect on game load speeds, but 8gb is still useful.

I would think it would mostly affect the OS load from a cold boot. Otherwise I would think most games are too large for the SSHD flash to have an affect.

At first I thought is said SSD and I was all psyched. But then when I realized it was just an SSHD the excitement went away. I already ran my XBOnes with external SSDs last year. Before finally opting to use the USB 3.0 powered 4TB Seagate Fast Plus drives, earlier this year.

Cold boot, and OS boot speed aside, would the dashboard apps benefit from adding the FLASH section? Anything that would speed up bringing up the FL, and snapped apps would be a huge plus. (think: the speed of bringing up the FL on the 360...it's soooo sloooooww on the One...) It would also be great if they would offer a way for us early adopters to add our own, and upgrade to the new Elite features.

Anything that uses the hard drive could theoretically benefit, so probably? Depends on their implementation. If it's purely a hardware implementation and the OS isn't hinting at what to store in flash, then it's going to have a mix of frequent and recently used data.

Is FL friends list? If not what is it? The friends list comes up quick for me. In a second or less. And the snapped apps come up in a few seconds.

Yeah...Friends List. I'm not sure we're talking about the same way to bring up the FL...or snap. I am talking about while playing a game, you see a friend jump on and you want to message, or invte them. With the 360, it was instantaneous...punch the guide button and you were immediately in their profile...another quick button press, and an invite was sent.

Now, with the system as is...you have to go to the app...( either snapped or via the dash) and three more menu items later you have to type the message...then you have to unsnap. All while trying to play. It's tedious...and maybe my system is glitched....(I doubt it, as my friends all have the same complaint. ) but it takes forever to bring up the snap menu, select the app, launch the app...select the person...yadda yadda.
