I noticed that Cox Gigablast price is the same as Ultimate, but requires a $100 installation, no doubt to run the fiber into your home. Since I rent rooms in homes I'll probably never have that. But I could get the 300/30 Ultimate.

$100 is not enough to actually run fiber to a location.

It's what one article claimed was the installation fee. Someone else cited it as being $300. In another location it was free in a promotion with a promotional monthly rate of $79. It has extremely limited availability. I read somewhere that they may at some point be offering gigabit speeds via DOCSIS 3.1 modems. Hopefully that happens.

Just FYI, Gigablast is only FTTH at this time. Cox will begin testing DOCSIS 3.1 upgrades this year and will expand Gigablast service into those areas. The first 3.1 modem design from Arris/Motorola is now available and in limited testing with all cable ISPs, who are testing the provider version, while the consumer version will be released later on. Both versions are identical, except one is branded Arris and the other Motorola and the Arris version is the one ISPs will be selling/renting to customers.

I'm waiting for the reviews before I let myself get excited. It was slated to be released much earlier and then went back on the drawing board. I saw some of the gameplay for that version--not good.

The playing mechanics in the trailer reminded me of a game I played on Xbox 360 named "Timeshift". I really, really loved Timeshift. Beat it on every level, because it had so much replay value. I'll give this one a try, just because of that.

I'm ready for a new ip. Willing to give this one a try without the review. Remedy did a great job with Alan wake, so I'm confident I'll like this one as well.

Gears of War 4 coming to PC too ?

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1182803

Interesting... Now, building a kick-arse gaming PC for VR is starting to make a bit more sense. I could play Quantum Break and Gears of War 4 with everything maxed out, it would probably be pretty sweet.

You guys can slum it on your XB1's

I'm curious as to what you all think of the news with Quatnum Break being released day and date on Win 10 as well? It seems there were a lot of pissed off Xbox One owners that were not happy with losing the "Exclusive" game (Funny, I never figured it was, but that it would be released on PC as well.) heading to PC. My thoughts are that it makes sense, but than I always figured that the Xbox One and Win 10/PC were going to be one ecosystem anyways.

Remedy has made some good games so if anyone deserves the benefit of the doubt, they do. Alan Wake was one of the better games last generation as it told a very good story (about as close as we may ever get to a Stephen King inspired videogame) with some interesting gameplay wrinkles and a really creepy, unsettling ambiance which fit the subject matter perfectly. Alan Wake's American Nightmare was a very good followup which also told a good story, played well and smartly brought the story to a satisfying conclusion. Including those two little gems will be a nice bonus for anyone who's never experienced them.

Is there a way to force XB1 to check for game updates manually? Or do they update on launch if there is a update available?

There was a recent update to Rock Band 4 and it applied the update when I launched the game. On 360 if you didn't accept the update it would log you out of XBL until you finished running the game. I'm not sure if it threatened to do that or not.

Destiny will apply updates after the game loads when you try to start it. I'm sure that they don't use the standard method.

That's crazy, we have some of the best fiber in the country (grant county zip), and all the big data centers have build out here because of it and cheap power, but providers won't offer gigabit speeds. I pay $40 a month for 100Mbps up and down though. Also (everyone here), feel free to add me on XBONE.

I was looking at the January NPD numbers (http://venturebeat.com/2016/02/11/ja...-xbox-one-ps4/), very interesting. Pretty obvious that while overall ONE sales are much lower globally than PS4 the "shooter" sales on the ONE are incredible. COD, Battlefront and Siege are all selling more on the ONE than the PS4, wow. And that doesn't include LIVE sales either! I really hope Xbox leadership keeps on the train of trying to improve the box overall and stop making chasing the PS4 a priority.

Anyone else thinking E3 or holiday 2016 we'll see a 'slim' ONE? I'm personally looking to purchase another ONE and waiting for either E3 or Holiday to see what changes.

And look at those GTA sales...my god, it's full of stars...

Possibly - but other than form factor and cost savings for MS, not sure what a redesign would benefit consumers..?

Most of the time we'd be begging for a quieter system or one less prone to failure, but this time Microsoft got it right. My XB1 is much quieter than my 'new rev' PS4. And my 'new rev' PS4 already got exchanged once b/c of failure !

Lower power use. Especially in standby. They should be able to have a die shrink by now, which should use less power than what has been used since 2013.

I would be good with a disc less model. Stopped buying disc months after getting the One's and stopped buying BR movies years ago. all digital since Steam beta and first IPhone for music. Just convenient and easier today to share digital content on all my devices with my family.

Did you get a CUH-1200? I was thinking of trading in my launch PS4 when Unchartered 4 comes out, but now I'm re-thinking....

Yeah, good point on the power. It would be awesome if MS made a 1TB, and possibly a hybrid, drive standard in the next model. But I think that would be added expense that wouldn't gain them many added customers, so hybrid drives will probably stay a high-end SKU.

There's an idea! They could market a USB3 external disc drive add-on for game discs, plus DVDs and BDs. I just wish we could play physical games off the HD like MS originally proposed but the internet freaked out over.

Yep - 1215 (I THINK?). FWIW it is quieter and cooler than my launch system, but my first one did go belly up. Just wouldn't power on, and it ate my disk (no way to get it out on the new rev, or at least nobody discovered how when I had the problem at that point).

Seems I'm gaming a lot more on XB1 now anyway. I DO have the Witcher 3 for PS4, but aside from that and COD (which I'm really not playing) my XB1 is doing all the heavy lifting.

Gaming hard from October thru April.
