Oh, and Titans kind of suck now - they're glass cannons, so forget about the possibility of a comeback once the other team has more than you.

While I am really enjoying the game I do agree some of the magic is gone from the first game. Some of my observations:

*Seems like the focus has shifted to the pilots and getting pilot kills is the best way to get a high score.
*I was awesome with the exploding cannon balls in(not sure what it was actually called) the first game...they didn't carry that weapon over into this game.
*Though some of the maps are big, some of them have way too many tight spaces that aren't titan friendly
*Seems like the best strategy in this game is to hunt in packs but when you get into tight spaces you can't even do that on several of the maps
*Gameplay is very tight and well designed
*Graphics are just ok..seems dead on the first game
*I liked the simplicity of the first game, kind of like the early Call of Duty games. When you try to layer in a ton of weapons, upgrades, and maneuvers it doesn't always make the game better. I started liking each new COD game less and less and I hope this franchise doesn't move in that direction.

Thank you. That matches what I have seen/heard elsewhere. For now I am holding off on a purchase. If the experts are right and B1/COD kill off the T2 sales I expect a reduced sale price for T2 in the near future.

I think titan play is the most changed aspect of the multiplayer. Its both easier and harder. I'd say its not better or worse, just different.

For one, there are these mini AI titans now called Reapers that show up at times, are moderately hard to kill, and dish out a decent bit of damage.

Secondly, they've made the titans much weaker overall. Thats nice for pilots, since rodeoing one isn't a suicide mission anymore. You can't just equip electric smoke - you have to wait a bit til it powers up. Also the grappling hook makes rodeoing easier.

I was so used to whatever the machine minigun was in TF1 that I can't get the hang of anything now - though I'm getting better with the 40mm cannon.

It also seems much easier to pull off an execution and just to destroy a titan much faster. Maybe thats because there is no auto-eject anymore, and new players haven't figured out how to manually do it (that cost me a lot in the first day).

My fav TF1 scenario is gone now (which is probably for the best for competitive balance) - whip out the always on sonar burn card just before calling in a titan.

The one thing I will say I think is definitely worse are the maps. I came to TF1 late and I think all the expansion map packs were out by then. I'm not sure why but I seem to keep playing Homestead, Forward Base Kodai, and Exo planet the most. I miss the awesome variety of the originals maps. Fortunately I think this is one place they definitely will improve by Christmas.

That's what I'm hoping for with CoD prices.

I really enjoyed the campaign mode. I guess once I get more MP matches under my Belt, plus get more abilities from the Titans, I will like MP better. Right now I still haven't reached a level where I can find a Titan I like to use.

I still haven't figured out how to eject without getting killed. I added the Nuclear Eject option, like I used in TF1, but I have no idea how to use it in TF2.

you have to tap the blue X button three times whenever the yellow caution tape looking indicator starts flashing at the top of your screen. The longer you wait the better the chance another player will destroy you.

I played attrition for a few hours last night. The game runs smooth and controls are precise. Although right off the bat there are things I hated:

-Maps are way too large and IMO they are not very well laid out. You can run around for several minutes without seeing anyone sometimes
-Too much ambient noise…there’s a bunch of background noise in each map that detracts from the shooting, footsteps, etc. Maybe it can be turned down? Have not checked
-Did not like equipping nuclear ejection and then not knowing how to use it…that’s on me I guess
-Electric smoke seems worthless
-Titans are taken down way too easily
-Jumping as a pilot did not seem like you could cover as much ground as in TF1. I felt like some rooftops were impossible to get to. This was not the case with TF1.
-Not a huge fan of any of the weapons so far

TF1 felt very balanced and almost like anyone could pick up the game and do well at it. I got obliterated many times playing TF2 last night. Hopefully upgrades will help balance things out more.

Eject works exactly the same as in TF1. And there is an auto-eject, you just can't equip that and the nuke at the same time.

Oh, and with how weak the Titans are now, the game should have been renamed Titans Fall

Freakin' loved this map. I hope respawn goes back to TF1 style maps. Less "laney".

I'd really like 3 or 4 more maps that feel like the first game. My two main gripes are:

-too many enclosed areas. Since I cant customize titans for use on a map by map basis the nuclear ejection kills me more often than anyone else. I had two configurations of Atlas on the first game - one for maps like Rise where you were likely to eject into a ceiling (nuclear ejection was off) and one for wide open maps like Angel City and Sandtrap (where I equipped it).

-the maps nearly all have overcast skies. Thats a real nitpick, but I miss very bright and/or colorful maps like Lagoon, Boneyard, & Swampland. I also really liked the nighttime maps like Airbase and Dig Site.

Everyone seems to love Eden, but I totally hate it. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I feel like I get wrecked every time I play it. I can't turn around without being shot. Rifles don't work for the close quarters stuff, and SMGs aren't accurate enough for longer ranges.

The game has grown on me. I always liked it but I LOVED the first Titanfall. Now that I have figured out what works and doesn't work (which is different than the original Titanfall), I have gotten a lot better...and lets not kid ourselves...games are more fun when you can dominate

I wasn't excited to get this game after the Beta, but I got it because I loved the first one and I was looking forward to the campaign. Well I loved the campaign and had a blast playing it. My 5 year old loved playing through it also. I was turned off about the changes for multiplayer, but after spending time, I just love it. I think its because I haven't played the first one in so long (Been playing BO3 all last year) so its easier to adjust to the changes. At this time, I don't see my self going back to B03 and this will be my game for a long time to come.

Maybe I'll give it another shot if I can just play Angel City. It'll be depressing to see stats and see my K/D at half what it was in TF1.

So its not just me. Why do you think that is? I know the Titans being weaker hurts me.

There's always a hit when you're learning new maps, but yeah the Titans being weak hurts anyone who was good with them. Also, even the "fast" Titans in this have only two boosts. Not being able to have Auto-Eject and a second ability is a downer.

The change to hardpoint encourages more camping, while Bounty Hunt does a bit too - why go after the bounty if you can just wait for people making a deposit.

I used the Radar when first starting, but by Gen 10 I was Stim except for MFD and Last Tits (Cloak for both). The new Stim actually seems faster, but doesn't last as long - neither of which is quite right.

The new Rodeo mechanic has hurt me. There are times where you want to just jump on and immediately back off, or where you'd want to stay on longer than it makes you jump off now. Somehow I think the new way is worse for me both as a Pilot and as a Titan. eta - a friendly Titan's shield would give you some protection in TF1 when riding, nothing like that anymore.

Again, I haven't put near enough time into the new one to be fully acclimated yet, but an expected Attrition or Pilot Hunter match result for me was 20+ kills and 0-5 deaths - a "good" match for me in TF2 so far has been in the teens with 6-10 deaths and probably averaging like 12:8.
