I haven't had a chance to mess with it yet. Anyone tried using the kinect to motion capture for your characters?

I am thinking of picking up some of the Nature packs and castle pack for the game. My daughter is enjoying it a lot. The way I see it I would easily pay $59 for this to play for a fully functional game, so I wonder what that would be equivalent too. Now the question begs if I buy it for the beta I am making the assumption those purchases carry over from the beta to the full release..?

Open beta now, plus they got rid of "Spark Time" which means you can now play ANY created content no matter what.

Spark Time has now been removed, and everyone is able to play anything in Project Spark to heart’s content, without limitation. Spark Premium (previously called Spark Power) provides great benefit by giving you double the XP and credits earned in the game. And while we technically didn’t give anything away, we do realize that there may be some fans that acquired Spark Power specifically because of the unlimited Spark Time benefit.

To do right by those folks, everyone who acquired 30 days of Spark Power within the last 30 days (as of 3/18/2014) will automatically receive (within the next few days):

- 24,000 credits. (the previous cost of a month of Spark Power)

- Continued XP and Credit bonus until their current Spark Power time runs out.

Just downloaded this on xbox one when it went to open beta. Messed around in it yesterday. There is definitely a learning curve but as a developer I could see this being very addictive.

My daughter had fun with it. Will have to check it out again now that is fully released. Her birthday is next month so I will have to look at prices and see if it is worth getting the full biomes opened for her.

I don't remember for sure, but I think they said that everything would be going to free because they were stopping future development other than bug fixes.

Edit:

Quote:
On October 5, Project Spark will be rolling out its biggest update and platform change. This update overhauls many Project Spark systems and areas. The biggest change is a shift from a free-to-play model to a free and open creation platform. What does that mean? This will automatically unlock previously paid downloadable content for new and existing Project Spark users. Microsoft will pivot from producing DLC and active feature development to encouraging more user generated content and opening the Project Spark experience.

Project Spark’s goal has always been to empower creativity. We’ve been an incubation engine for ideas from epic to artistic and we plan to continue doing so. Project Spark inspires and empowers over 200,000 creators who have shared tens of millions of custom objects, behaviors and experiences. Every day we see anywhere between 300 and 400 new games being uploaded on our platform. Our support of these creators and our communications with them will continue in an open, free and collaborative environment.

In light of these changes to a fully free model, all players who have purchased Project Spark digital content on or after July 28, 2015, purchased a retail disc and activated it by product key redemption on or after July 28, 2015 or have a remainder balance of purchased in-game tokens will be entitled to Windows Store credit equivalent to their money spent. Windows Store credits will be awarded automatically to all users within 30-60 days after October 5. If you have additional concerns, we have a full FAQ on our refund process.

Additionally, today’s released content packs are our last planned DLC. With a total of 46 released packs and 2,000+ assets, we feel like we’ve gotten to a good place with our content offers for creators. This also means that we will no longer create episodic adventures, including future Conker’s Big Reunion episodic content. We’ll leave it up to you to continue his story in whatever ways you want, and we can’t wait to see what you create!

Alongside these larger changes, Project Spark will roll out a number of different content, updates and features to further unlock and amplify your experience. The new Project Spark Title Update, arriving on October 5, will include features like:
•The maximum terrain limit in creations has been doubled (on top of Massive World Builder)

•The maximum prop limit in creations has been increased by 500 (on top of Massive World Builder)

•200+ new assets will be added in game, including a dragon, goblin warlord, bog biome and a set of new primitive building blocks

•Each creator will now have a total of 100 Upload Slots for their creations

•UGC ranking will be based on downloads and favorites, instead of upvote/downvote ratings

•The Project Spark Marketplace has been removed

•The Project Spark Tour and Treasure Trove have been removed

•Achievements have been revamped for players and creators

I decided to finally try out Project Spark now that all this stuff is freely available. It's definitely a fun little tool set, but how exactly do I run the downloadable content? I can't seem to locate it anywhere in the main title once I've DL'd it.

That's kind one of the problems with the game, for me. Finding good content is klunky. You have to wade through all the suggested content, and try it out to even know if it's any good...usually you just get some minecraft wannabe's out there, and it takes a while to find something decent.

Sorry, I wasn't all that clear: what I meant to say is that I already downloaded a piece of DLC from the marketplace, but I can't seem to find it within the game.

Specifically, I DL'd the Recon Mission, which seems to be an adventure that I can also customize to create my own ending.

A huge portion of the DLC is just 'parts' that are available when designing your own game (or when downloading games others have designed).

No, you were clear. I guess I wasn't...It is klunky normally, so I wouldn't expect it to be any easier for the DLC. I have downloaded some of the content as well, I just haven't fired the game up to check it.
