Ouch if that really happens in the U.S.!

I think it was Ubisoft who said they'd be keeping the $59.99 price tag.

Microsoft said first party $59.99

Well, I think they said BF4 is still $59.99. But Premium is slated at $50, so that really $110 out the gate.

But if I put in 300-400 hours again, that still only 25 cents per hour of entertainment. That said, if they’re looking to raise prices they better be offering some killer value. The majority of EA wares is shovelware IMHO.

If that is truly the case then I will not be getting any EA games until the price comes down to a reasonable level. $80 would be a crazy amount. The only way I could see $80 is if that also included download content that would normally cost extra later on.

Count me out of $80 games. There are few (maybe none) games that EA puts out that I need to pick up for the first year or until they go on sale.

+1. I don't foresee any set of circumstances where I will pay $80-$100 with DLC to play a damn videogame from anyone. If that is where these console game prices are going...then I'll be shutting down the hatches on all of them. And moving on to something else...permanently. I don't play EA sports anyway...like Tyrant 2 said. But they publish for others too. So they can truly stick it! Only people with lot's of money to blow, fools, idiots and addicts will join EA on that gambit IMHO. These nextGen consoles and the games for them are increasingly looking like toys for only the rich...or wealthy (who don't know they are only about 6 paychecks & a job loss, away from poverty themselves). They certainly don't seem to be for struggling middle class families or the poor (about 80% of the population). Announcements like this are just indicative of how insane people have become in support of habits...not a hobby.

If true, it gives good reason to stick with the 360 and PS3 for quite sometime. Even $80 EA games will easily be located for $10-$20 new after a couple of years.

It stinks for the lovers of online multiplayer though since the best time to enjoy that feature is early on when there are large crowds and everyone is learning together.

Considering they have like 4 games available for pre-order at Amazon for $59.99 each...I'd say this is probably not true.

Tend to agree too. Wasn't the original placeholders at $100 just in-case? They typically update when they get better (right) pricing info from the vendor
