No shame in that! The Lego games are great chill/relax games - no worry about dying, and some fun puzzles to solve. And darn funny and cute, too. biggrin.gif

Yeah, this is the question mark in the bunch.

I've heard all the criticism and it does seem damning. But then I hear comparisons to God of War and Batman. And then I see the beautiful visuals. And that it's developed by Crytek. And I love the time period. And criticisms of all things Xbox One have been so overblown.

So I am skeptical but excited to try it.

If the game is about 8 hours long (I'll get 8 hours easily) then I am satisfied. I think the co-op gladiator mode will be fun as well so I think this game will have some legs for me. From what I have read, it sounds like the game has made good progress from the E3 days. Visually it looks to be one of the best on the new systems. Gameplay will be interesting. If it play like Batman then I'll be more then satisfied. This has been on my day one list since I first saw it, so my opinion is biased.wink.gif

I'm not sure that the fact that it's developed by Crytek is something worth celebrating. While they are known for amazing visuals, they aren't really known for great playing games. Crysis 3 got dogged by many reviewers, and I have Crysis 2 on my PC, and while the game is absolutely drop dead gorgeous (especially with the Maldo mod), the gameplay is pretty lame to be completely honest.

Crytek reminds me a lot of Guerrila Games (Killzone). They also know how make very beautiful games, but none of their games are universally praised for actually being a... you know.. good game.

I hear you, and understand it's a common sentiment, but I find Crysis 2 and 3 (and the current Killzone, for that matter) to be more than solid from a single-player gameplay perspective.

These games don't do anything different, but once their sweet spot is found - stealth, assault, defense, exploring, or a mixture of all, then they really shine as a simple shooter. At least as good, and at times better than, the beloved Halo series. The only weekness of these games is, for the most part, there's a lack of upgrading/building/developing. Find that sweet spot early, and it's rinse and repeat throughout the game.

I think because they look and sound so good, people hold a high expectation to have the same advances in gameplay. But as mentioned, they are "simple shooters", and IMO very good ones.

I can't speak for mutliplayer, which seems to be most of the focus with FPS's these days. Also, sorry for OT, but felt I had to defend Crytek. redface.gif

I got a pre-order in this morning, and will be buying Forza and either BF4 or NBA 2K14 for it. I am also hoping that Ryse and Dead Rising get sent from gamefly. If I end up liking them, I will buy them both in january.

I'm going all digital as well. At launch I'll be picking up Ryse, Fifa 14, Dead Rising 3 and COD Ghosts. Maybe Forza and NBAK214 later

BF4 just showed up on porch yesterday, the rest (Ryse, Forza 5, etc.) I pick up tonight at the local BestBuy midnight launch. I'm curious to see how crazy it is there - I'll post some pictures if anything interesting comes up.

Hope to see a few of you online tonight (tomorrow morning)!

I got Forza 5 and Ryse and that will hold me for now as far as the XB1 goes. I've already put quite a bit of time into Forza 5 (I'm at level 21) and am enjoying it quite a bit even if I'm not wild about its monetary system and the prices for the high level cars. I only put Ryse in to make sure it worked; it looked realy nice and seemed to control well but I have a bit of a backlog so I've put it aside for now and there's no real point in getting anything else until I clean out the waiting list.

Powerstar Golf I added a week after launch. The game looked fun and I like the more cartoon aspect of golf games then the Tiger Woods stuff.

Yeah it is a lot of fun. I am hoping I can hold off on buying anymore games for a bit because my backlog is already starting to grow on the One. But I will be buying peggle 2 next week when it comes out and will get Halo spartan assault once it is out.

-Ryse -Liked
-DR3 - Disliked
-Lego Marvel - Liked
-Just Dance 2014 (I resisted as long as I could but daughter won the battle, but its fun to watch someone making fool of themselves)

I grabbed Ryse, COD:Ghosts and Forza 5.... Seem to be playing more Forza 5 more than anything else at this time but, it was the main reason for me to get the console on release. I did digital for Ghosts and Ryse, Ghosts I picked up the digital one on the 360 on release and did the $10 upgrade. I also had plenty of MS money, so I grabbed Ryse.

Not sure what else I will grab tho, As DR3 looks..OK but, BF4 is on my list of wants...
