Hello,

I am setting up our dedicated theater in our basement and am trying to decide what to use for our display. The room will be used for both movies and video gaming (Xbox One/PS4) and there is no ambient light. The dimensions of the room are 14' x 17' but the ceiling is only 6' 9". The projector placement would need to be right above to just behind the seating area in the room which puts it somewhere in the realm of 10'-13' away from the screen. My question is, would Kinect even work with the projector being so close to the players or should I just be looking for a flat panel? We are currently using a 62" DLP and looking for something larger. I was hoping to keep a projector purchase around $2,000, but if I need to buy a larger flat panel I know I will have to bump that up significantly. I'm also not opposed to buying something used as well. Any insight would be great.

Thanks.

According to this article I believe that would work.

Thanks for the link. Looks like distance wise I should be fine. I just wasn't sure with being so close to the projector if it would have a hard time picking people up.

Also, any suggestions on projector from anyone? Want to stay around $2,000 or below for projector.

Thanks.
