I ran set-up hooking my Directv Genie up with HDMI out to HDMI in on the XB1, from there an HDMI cable runs from out on XB1 to HDMI in on my HK receiver. Completing the set-up an HDMI is run from the receivers out port to my plasma. Everything was working fine but then Directv stopped working. It won't work on the XB1 or with the XB1 off just using the passthrough feature. Help?!

Start trouble shooting. If you run the direct tv bypassing the xbox, does it work then?

Yes, and this was the first step that I tried.

I'm trying to figure out how to set it up with my HK receiver. I want to be able to watch my tv with stereo and at other times just through tv speakers.

I too had this set up. DirecTV HD DVR (not Genie) HDMI into the XB1 then to the TV. I had three issues

1. There is no standby passthrough which forces my wife and kids to navigate the XB1 menu just to watch TV
2. The picture changed, it was brighter, with tint issues. Reds would look orange, then switch back to red, and it kept flicking back and forth.
3. It made the menu and channel changing lag. It blacks out for seconds between channel changes.

For these reasons, it has been dropped. Microsoft has a bunch of kinks to work out here.

I knew I couldn't be the only one with picture issues. It actually makes my eyes strain.

I guess I am lucky. Had no picture issues and certainly didn't have any lag issues on the direct tv feed.

I have Directv and a One and didn't even consider running it through the One. Help me out...what would be the benefit?

Mathematics is the reason for the season.

No picture issues with the Direct TV going into the One. Though I am getting Watch TV app freezes. My wife hates the new setup with the Direct TV in the Xbox One. Even though I tell her she does not need to use the voice she still does not like it. So I think I will be switch it back for now and leaving the HDMI in unused at this point. I'll probably get a long HDMI cable use the HDMI IN for the HD DVD player that got disconnected to make room for the Xbox One.

1. Is the fast forward and rewind graphics not show up for anybody else? When I try and fast forward I don't see the frames move forward nor do I see the grapics.
2. I also percieved that the picture got a little washed out.

I'm using a Directv mini-genie box.
