I am having an issue controlling sound when using the snap feature when playing a game and using the PIP for the TV as well. I run my Xbox One through my Pioneer VSX-1021 7.1 receiver via HDMI as well as my Motorola Uverse cable box. Obviously when I change the volume with the Receiver remote it will control both the TV and Game volume at the same time. If I try to control the cable box volume with the cable box remote it does not work to change the TV volume. The Xbox recognized the cable box and can power it on and off.
Another thing to mention. I have never been able to control volume via the cable box remote through the cable box with it hooked to the receiver. I can only control it by the receiver remote. The same cable box hooked to my samsung TV with no receiver I can control the volume with either the TV remote or the cable box remote. I have tried various settings on the receiver and the cable box with no luck. Is this something that I am not going to be able to do perhaps?
I spent some time trying to figure that same thing out. Unfortunately no luck. I have just turned on captions for some games (Dead Rising, Ryse) Not a perfect solution, but at least let's me continue to use the snap TV feature.
