Hey guys, I have a quick question, I have just sold my xbox 360 slim, before I sold it I transfered all my game saves to a thumb drive that was formatted for xbox 360 format of course, now , I have an offline xbox 360(don't want to buy a wireless adapter for it, it's the white phat 360) in the basement that I want to play on from time to time, I got the xbox one so I won't be using the xbox 360 too much but I do want to transfer my game saves to my offline xbox 360, I have my need for speed saves there that I worked hard for, call of duty saves etc..

So my question Is this, do I just hook up the thumb drive and copy over the save games to the offline xbox 360? The offline user account name (gamertag) that I have created on the offline xbox 360 is the same as my xbox live account name so the save game should work right?( it checks if the gamertag name matches the gamer tag for the save game right?) , I think I won't be getting any more achievements on the offline xbox 360 by copying the save files over from what I read online but I don't really mind.

If your games saves were made using a 'Live' account, then you will need to use the same live account to access the game saves. You can have an offline live account, you just need to re-download you gamertag to your memory chip. (you may have to temporarily connect your Xbox to internet to do so). In the future you can just keep your gamertag on your memory card, and that way it will be portable along with your game saves. You can still get achievements, but there will be no date stamp, and it will not register with xbox.com until you are connected to internet.

I do not think an offline account with the same gamertag name will be able to access the game saves made by the live account.

Xbox and PS3 Gamertag = Xerostomia
Wii = I'm too lazy to get the number

Connect and login once, copy over the saves. Done. You don't need to keep your account on the USB.
