So it's only a $20 game? I might pick it up if that is all it costs. The only question will be whether I get it on the XBOne or the PS4.

It's $20 for the base game or $40 for the game + season pass.

The PS4 version is 1080p 60 while the Xone version is 900p 60, I think both versions suffer from some texture draw-in.

Honestly I should have waited for the PC release but I figured what the heck.

The Trials part is great, but the no online Motocross is a fail. Trials Supercross is my "30 minute vacation" game I play every night, or at least nights when I don't have time to invest in playing AAA titles. I will play through the Trials tracks, and then go back to Evolution until the vaguely inferred promise of a future multiplayer add-on.

The best part about being in my 40's? I did all my stupid sh!t before the Internet.

What's the advantage of the PC version?

I don't think there is any texture streaming issues, it is by design. It doesn't happen unless you restart the level. From the developer Sebbi:
Quote:
Texture "popping" (= blurred texture instead of full resolution) is only happening when the camera jumps a very long distance. Checkpoint restarts for example don't cause it (data already in cache), but restarting the track when you are for example in the middle of the track will show some blurred textures for a few frames (however everything should be 1:1 resolution in less than 0.5 seconds).

This is just like in previous Trials games. We want instant level restarts, because the game play demands it. We would never trade game play for improved graphics. Instant restart means that in a single frame (16 milliseconds) the whole level (textures, meshes, physics world, trigger systems, etc, etc) needs to be restored to the original state. You can't load much data from the HDD in 16 milliseconds, so some minor popping is inevitable when restarting the whole track. (the whole uncompressed game data set would take more than 10 GB of memory so fitting it to memory at once is impossible).

Now playing: Bloodborne
Recently Finished: The Order: 1886, Dying Light

I haven't played Trials since the original, but I decided to download this one. I'm enjoying it so far, but I have one of the same complaints that I had with the original: There isn't any gradual ramp-up in difficulty. I had no trouble getting gold medals with zero faults for the first 30 or so tracks, then it jumps straight to trial-and-error, 50 faults to finish the track. It would be nice to have something in between...

I have the same dilemma. I have a decent number of Xbox Live friends from the other two games for a healthy leaderboard (assuming most buy this game as well). But if the PS4 is leaps better performance/graphics-wise, I might buy it for that system.

Fun game, best part is trying to beat your friends time. Right now I am racing mostly against Jhoff80, Harpua, and randomninjaattack. I think those are all AVS guys.

Highly recommend it, perfect game to zone out for 30 to 60 minutes and to try and perfect race times.

To be serious though if I am going to pay the same $ regardless of platform I'll usually buy the pc version.

Hi, I was able to connect but I had to install the X1 Uplay application. The game steered me in that direction. Otherwise, I would not have known.

I bought this on the ps4. Played all the trial game on 360. But I regret getting it on the Ps4. I did it due to higher res, and I had a $10 credit in my account. But I hate the DS4 for it. So far any game that requires the use of DS4 triggers just infuriates me. The triggers are horrible.

Should have got the one version and stuck with the Xbox Controller. Lesson learned.

Here is a comparison of the four platforms.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2014-trials-fusion-face-off

I'll give the demo a shot on the PS4, but I'll probably get it on the One since I already have a stable of Trials friends on Xbox.

I've noticed today that if I don't fully quit the game before running it again, I don't usually get working leaderboards / ghost competitors. Kind of obnoxious.

The PS4 & X1 editions have no noticeable difference as far as I can tell.
This game moves fast but I don't see any increase in resolution.
The same annoying start-up draw-in is present on both systems.

Coding is a bitch... it will get so much better over time.

My son had some left over Birthday Money and wanted me to pick this up for him today. I was trying to wait for it to go on sale, but since he was buying I went ahead and bought it. Pretty addicting game. I like the ghost names and I often find myself redoing tracks to beat some of you More importantly I'm beating my son!

Some people were saying that you could get the game for free today, but I think it turned out to be a mistake. It was just the demo, but people thought they were getting the full game.

It's a good deal. I like being able to play for a short time, and my kids love watching the rider crash. The commentary is hilarious at times. Great value for money.

So I'm bringing this thread back from the dead :-)

I just purchased this game on a whim from Amazon for $18.30 a few weeks ago and when it arrived it included a code for the season pass. I am LOVING this game and my wife actually enjoys playing it as well. If you haven't played it yet get it cheap and enjoy. Plus they announced a new large DLC that comes out on the 14th Awesome Level Max
