Xbox One Bitstream DTS not discrete
I have a new Xbox One hooked up optically to me Logitech z-5500. I cannot select 5.1 uncompressed for the sound output since I don't think the z5500 can handle it. However, I know from owning a PS3 that the bitstream option allows proper Dolby and DTS 5.1 channels to be passed.
When I set it on Bitstream on the Xbox One, I don't get true 5.1 audio. I get what sounds like Pro Logic II. Anytime the rear channels fire, so do the corresponding front channels.
I know the Logitech z-5500's are a bit old, but they work for my space and current budget and bitstream should work in threory. Any idea or suggestions to get proper 5.1 discrete sound? I'm happy to test anything out, especially since I watch Blu-Ray movies on here too.
