Really looking forward to this...Most of my gaming is MP anymore, with the exception of this series. Played them all, so far. Great to see Rocksteady back at the helm. "Origins" was dismal compared to the other two. The game mechanics were similar, but nowhere near as polished as Asylum or City...

I had seen the other day, that it received a "M" rating. (the others were "T") The dev's stated that the scenes in question were integral to the story, and thus could not be dropped. Nice to see a studio going for the story instead of dollars.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/02/...ght-is-rated-m

One article is calling it the inevitable end of the "T" rating. Not sure I buy in to that.

^^^ That looks awesome. Next-gen Batman! Great to see Rocksteady back at the helm.

I hope the Xbox One version looks and plays identical to what they showed in the PS4 version.

That is freaking sweet.

Thoroughly enjoyed Asylum and City, but never touched Origins.

This one has me giddy like a little kid.

Yippee-ki-yay...

Bad Batman news today...
Delayed from October 2014, to 6/2/15 and now 6/23, I think...

Yeah, the next gen has definitely brought out the DC universe. (And the 360 version was no slouch...) The things I noticed were actual Gotham citizens, interacting throughout the city, and even reacting to Bats speeding by in the Batmobile.

I also noticed that the gliding looked to be faster and more precise? Definitely seemed to be able to control where you are at, and how far you can travel. Not to mention launching from the Batmobile in to a glide...The mechanics look great!

That's fine with me, as long as we get a great finished product. Maybe AC Unity, and MCC actually did some good for gaming. There is no reason to sell us your dookie, and expect to get away with it...

I still haven't finished Arkham Origins though. I was having mad fun on that , put 23 hours into it but that was on PC and I had a glut of games so never finished it. This is going to make me fire it up again. I could probably catch the remaining games on Steam for dirt cheap to get up to this one.

Origins felt like it was faking it, to me... I mean the same controls were there, (almost) and the story was OK, but it never really got off the ground. The mechanics were mis-timed vs. City, and Asylum. You couldn't string the combos as fluidly. (I have over 250+ string in City's Joker's Funhouse battle arena, more in Penguin's Iceberg Lounge.).

I do get giddy, when I get to play as Batman, especially if Kevin Conroy is handling the vocal duties...all the bone-crunching action...definitely the best fighting games. The story telling is what makes it all seem real. If this one has as good of a story, there is no game in the foreseeable future that will take me away from it.

I decided to fire up the old Batman on the PC at my last checkpoint. Getting my head bashed in by the giant guy with the green exo-suit thing that I seem to rip stuff off during the fight. This guy is tough to beat and it doesn't help me has buddies that come in to help him. I think I need to concentrate on getting rid of them first and then putting work on the big guy.
Graphics look amazing after all this time.

Still trying to decide whether to go with the PS4 or Xbox One version. The Xbox is my preferred platform and I can wait for the "exclusive" content but there has been no real coverage (that I've found at least) of the Xbox One version and all the reviews I've found pertain to the PS4 version. I've read that Rocksteady was aiming for console parity with this one but I'd still like a bit of hard data before taking the plunge.

My personal experience: I was a PS4-only player for about a year, even though I had both consoles. Then last Dec. a friend loaned me Shadow of Mordor for the XB1, and the supposed "lower-quality/resolution" of the Xbox console looked and played great to me. And I liked the Xbox controller better, so at that point I switched to a XB1-only player.

So far, I've never experienced anything on XB1 that I thought was even slightly inferior to the PS4, despite what the specs or websites say. YMMV

It really comes down to the controller and UI you prefer as well as how picky you are about resolution. I beat Shadow of Mordor on PS4 earlier in the year but picked it up for cheap on the XBone when I purchased the console in March. There is a difference in overall clarity but it's not huge. The PS4 version was definitely sharper, but the One version doesn't look bad at all.

The Internet is filled with people who will swear a game is unplayable because it's 900p. Don't listen to those people. Framerate and overall performance should be the determining factor.

Thanks for the feedback. I tend to prefer the Xbox One on multiplatform games largely because of the controller as I've always felt more comfortable with the offset joysticks.

The game looks amazing and the gameplay is polished...

I played A. Asylum and A. City and the same way that A. City was a huge leap over A. Asylum; A. Knight is a huge leap over A. City.

The Batmobile is real powerful...

AWESOME game so far...no issues...and I dislike the series/dev overall.

PC+AMD gamers are screwed apparently (see below). Could this be the 1st time ever console gaming was an advantage?

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/bat.../1100-6428392/

The PC edition of Batman: Arkham Knight appears to be carrying noticeable bugs and glitches, especially for those using AMD graphics cards, with message boards lighting up as players report numerous problems.
Chief among the PC version's technical issues are sporadic freezes, frame-rate stutters, and audio glitches. Some players had expected issues after Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment adjusted its system requirements, leaving with it a warning about AMD compatibility problems.

[Update 1: Developer Rocksteady has released a statement: "We're aware that some users are reporting performance issues with the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight. This is something that Rocksteady takes very seriously. We are working closely with our external PC development partner to make sure these issues get resolved as quickly as possible." Update Ends]
[Update 2: A mass of disappointed customers have begun to criticise the game on its user Steam page. At the time of going to press, 70 percent of customers have not recommended the title, with some 2,000 customers penning negative reviews. Update ends]

how is it running on the One? the PC version is getting hammered.

it's weird. I loved the first couple but kind of got burned out after the second one. It just seemed so long (I guess it didn't help that I was going for all the collectibles but I used a guide to speed it up).
