In an effort to draw more attention to this thread which features older games that are still worthwhile awaiting your widescreen Home Theater setups via Xbox 360 in backward compatibility mode, here's two original Xbox ("Xbox 1") games on my 360 HT system:

The older Xbox games can look pretty good on a 360... I hope Microsoft doesn't give up the back-compat updates!

Sub-1080p/60fps is not next-gen.

That's NG:Black.

I'm ashamed to admit... I needed Black's easier "Ninja Dog" difficulty to continue playing. I am not a true Ninja - maybe someday.

I'm stuck at the fire dragon. I've almost all but given up on how to beat it. I wish I had the choice to use the Ninja Dog.

Here are a few shots of the Halo 3 Trailer zoomed to fit my 136" 2.35 screen.

I know it won't happen, but it would be really cool if Bungie would include an option to play the entire game in 2.35 format.

And here is a shot from Call of Duty 2 on the same screen. What you can't see are the unused portions of the 2.35 screen at the sides. This is equivilant to about 110" 16x9 screen.

I should preface these pictures with the fact that my digital camera is like 10 years old and only does 2.1 mpixels. So, that being said, I would just like to say that these pics don't really do my HT justice. Enjoy though.

Here's my home theater setup in my living room:

Here's a pic of Germany vs. Argentina Game:

Here's a pic of my Xbox 360 Dashboard:

Here's a quick pic of GRAW:

Everything looks amazing (in my, my girlfriend's and our roomate's opinion). I have HD Cable and also a PS DVD Player. I am now looking at Blue Ray/waiting on the PS3. I saw a Blue Ray player at BB the other day and I was just blown away.

Hat Trick: XBOX 360, PS3, Wii

XBL GT: Osiriis
PSN GT: Poseidon44

Quicksilver, nice setup. I would advise against putting anything on top of your cable box, becuase they get extremely hot.

Have you had any problems with the apparently widespread 'green blob' problem people report having? I'm considering buying a 50" SXRD A2000 in the coming months. Thanks!

Thanks for the tip Chris. I actually forgot about that when I was setting all the components up. I'll probably switch it this coming weekend.

The Halo 3 trailer looks incredible on your projection screen. What kind of projector is that?

DOA4 @1080i on Panny 42phd6u taken with an older digital camera.

Quikzilver: Looks like you have a lot of overscan on that World Cup shot. Just to let you know.

Thanks. It is a Sanyo Z4. The screen is a Carada 136" 2.35. I took the shots using a 1 second exposure with no flash in a completly dark room from my normal sitting distance of 18 feet. The COD2 shot is a tad blurry, I must have bumped the camera slightly. I didn't do anything to the images except crop/resize them down and save them as JPEGs. COD2 (and all 360 games) looks great!

And that would be why alot of 360s die and they blame it on ms. People just dont get it. YOU CANNOT PUT A HIGH END GAMING MACHINE IN A TIGHT SPOT AND EXPECT IT TO LAST.

This is on a Samsung 26in, I know my set up will never compare to what a lot of you guys have, but it keeps me happy. Not pictured are the speakers in the corners of the ceiling, you can see one of the cables of one of them behind the TV.

I started getting rid of the Xbox games, those are the only ones that I've got left now.

Meh, that's the phone they gave me from work. I'm gonna see if I get them to give me a Palm Treo instead, I some times don't get emails until hours after they are sent. Don't know why... plus I think that the Treo is way cooler.
