So who is going to camp out in front of BB on the 18th and at what time are you likely to arrive?

I would think that there would already be a line forming around midnight. I'm personally going to play it by ear, and see what the weather holds here in the NE.

What I have read on other forums would suggest that lines will be starting earlier than 6pm for the following morning.

Man FD... We really need to get you a 360.

Have you considered paying a little extra from those ebayers or someone local selling it? I saw on cragislist in my area that there are some 360s only selling at above 100 over cost.

I know I really need one, but I refuse to pay extra for it :)

Here's hoping for a very cold and blustry night to keep many people away.

Just make sure you get those Hot Hands packets. They helped us out on our camp out night at BB on the 21st. Put them in your gloves and shoes and that will help out nicely. I do not know if there will be as many people as there were the first release date, but you never know. There is quite a buzz going around!!! Be prepared!!!

I'm an avid skier, and have gone to some very inhospitable places to do so. I think I will be well prepared for the cold, as compared to some of the other people out there. Now just to hit Costco for a nice bottle of scotch to make the time go by.

I wouldn't be surprised if the lines are worse now (18th) than they were the 22nd ... last minute christmas shoppers, people that were relying on preorders, others thinking they could get one sooner than now after first shipment, ebay re-sellers

I myself will probably camp out with some friends ... should make for an interesting experience to chalk up on the lifeboard

That's exactly how I classified it as well. I never done anything like that before. And believe me when it was over I felt like I had a huge trophy in my backseat. Couldn't wait to get in my car and drive out of the parking lot (people were pointing at me in the store when I was carrying it). It will be fun for you, it was for us... I was also glad there were some girls there as well so atleast when there was some snuggling (only to keep warm) it was boy/girl stuff. Hey, anything below 32 degrees is fine since it is done out of survival: )...

I think they'll be worse too... The Best Buy by me has a sign on the front door saying XB360 available 12/18/05... Luckily I was able to get my 360 ordered from CC.com this morning (not that I would even think about camping out anyways)

I was at BB earlier today and they are already expecting a huge crowd. They get over 50 calls a day about the 360. Plus all the people popping in trying to see when they will be out. It most likely will be more chaotic then the first launch!!!

Camping out defenitely felt more of a personal challenege than anything else. Plus you end up making friends/bonding while in line to pass the time.

Good luck to you all. I'll probably swing by BB in the AM as well to see how it is. ;)

I forgot about the bonding. I actualy had a few of the people who I camped out with come over and play a few days after. It was fun and we are still in contact...

I got lucky this morning too and purchased a premium on CC.com

I think I will still camp out anyway. Plenty of family and friends could use one, or maybe I'll be greedy and put it on ebay.

I will probably end up camping out, as well as still continue my daily search routine, as plenty of my AVS xbox friends are still looking for one, and it would really be great to be able to sell them one at cost.

my nephew was asked to join a group of high school kids that were gonna campout at best buy. they already have 12 kids and one of the kids dad is fronting any kid not able to buy one $75 bucks to buy one, so he can sell the extras on ebay. If they get enough kids they have even plans for letting his wife chaperone half of them at a second best buy.

I wonder when the ebay rush is going to slow down...Probably not til January. I heard of a few people having their friends wait in line with them and getting xboxs so they can sell them on ebay. They figure if they get 4 units (4 people in line) they can sell them for 3200 atleast. After getting them for 1600 that is a decent profit...I of course was camped out for my LOVE of the GAME!

#1. For Xbox's? From what I hear they are plagued with issues and failures.

#2. Me personally: I avoid spending any money at B Buy. Poor customer service, long lines, uninformed salespeople, OUT OF STOCK items, you name it.

Dont dismiss Target! Here in Southern California (San Diego area) I went to Target last sunday at 7:45 and they had 6 premium sets upon opening at 8a.

i was very lucky and got one. Was out the door by 8:10 AM, Now I am a bit greedy- I will be back this Sat and Sun am just to try again. (why not keep one and sell one to a ebay divorced dad trying to be his kids hero!) :)

So... As was predicted, it would seem that, while a few stores or select regions in Japan sold out of 360s, most of the stores still have them available on shelves even after the launch day. Hence, basically, the 360s we sorely needed here in the US went overseas so that the Japanese could snub them. Very irritating for poor parents and gamers who are even now considering camping out at Best Buys for the predicted re-supply.

What did Microsoft expect, with both DOA4 and Enchant Arm slipping out past the launch date? Did they really think that with no compelling Japanese launch titles and no entrenched support, that they'd have a massive sales surge? Blurgh.

Here is the second shipment store allotment numbers through google maps: http://xbox.clambert.org/map

I think I'll see if I can go with my brother in law early on Sunday morning to see how bad the lines are since he's still looking for one for my nephew.

I am kinda confused here. Are just Best Buy's waiting this week to release the 360's on Sunday Morning? If not are other stores going to do a release on Sunday morning as well? I received my unit via Sam's Club but I am helping my brother get one. I am hoping maybe to hit Sam again if this is the case. More information on this 18th release would be great. Thanks so much everyone.

BB is supposedly holding their shipments of 360s for a Dec 18th sale. Other stores have gotten their second shipments over the past week like Costco and Sams club.

However my gamestop pre-order which was supposedly second shipment has not been touched yet. :(
