OK, I'm starting this thread as a place where we can organize our talks about DOA4. Hopefully there is enough interest in this forum where we'd all be able to play on Live together or at least discuss the game.

First info i'm personally interested in is, since this game is SUPPOSE to be shipping Wednesday, i'd appreciate if anyone that actually sees the game on store shelves or hears of it being in stock, please report it. Other than that, feel free to post any comments about the game or series here.

Anyone got any recent movies of this game? I'm looking at possibly buying it, but I haven't really been into fighting games since Street Fighter 2. Graphics look pretty cool on this one but I keep hearing mixed talk about the DOA fighting system over the years. Still, the thought of having an online fighting game does sound pretty cool.

Yeah it is still listed as shipping on the 28th with most retailers ( some have it listed for the 29th or 30th which is meaning 'In Stock' at that time ) . From what has been said about the LIVE issues and such it is hard to say if it will actually ship on 12/28/05 . Then there is the fact that IGN said they played a final version of the game and it was complete , so who knows . I have it pre-ordered and while it would be great to get it in the next couple days I really have my doubts it will ship ( I also heard a rumor that it has already shipped for distribution ;) ) .

---- Too much speculation going on here IMO and you would think they would let people know if it were to be in stores so soon ... my guess is Jan. 06 .

--- Anybody else planning to pick up the DOA4 Arcade Stick ?

I have not heard of a DOA4 Arcade Stick. Do you have a decent link so we can check it out?

Thanks, I guess I could have taken some initiative and looked there myself :p It doesn't specify if this unit is wireless or not. The lack of mentioning that feature leads me to believe that it is a wired unit.

The game is complete in wild so unless a required xbox live update holds it up it should be forthcoming...

--- It is wired (from what has been reported in Japan where they have been using them on the DOA4 demo) .

 I am having a hard time going back to wired controllers after being spoiled by the superlative wireless 360 piece. If it HAS to be a wired controller, then I hope the cord is relatively long. My living room is decent sized, so I can't use any whimpy cords ;)

If you're serious enough to want to want a joystick I really think the wired stick is the only way to go. The 360 wireless is great but still not always as accurate and precise (timing) as the wired.

I have both types and wired is better, esp. for something as demanding on the controller as a fighter. I used wireless on most other gametypes though.

That's a good point, but the concept of wireless is highly appealing. When playing with the wireless 360 controller I have no perceptible lag or response issues. I don't think it is uncanny to expect the same level of performance with a stick. Fighting games do require split second timing, but the same can be said for FPS, etc, etc. I just hate the damn cords ;)

i've always liked the DOA games and the fighting engine, so that's what i'm going on. plus, all the previews i've read have been positive. you pretty much know what you're gettin with a fighting game, no big suprises. i'm still stoked for it.

I purchased a mad catz extension for that reason, but think that a usb 2.0 extension cord might work. Lack of wireless is a pain, I agree.

this kid in Japan from the xbox.com forums has the game already. said he picked it up today eventhough the guy at the store told him the 29th. def legit, you can check his achievements and he posted a pick of the packaging. so maybe we will end up gettin it tomorrow here in the US.
