The new 250gb xbox will most likely have a set of its own faults.

But, figured I would just put this here...

120gb Elite mfd: February 2010, bought new 6.18.2010. RRoD yesterday with a 0022 code. Since I have only owned for less then a month I am simply going to rma with MS then try and deal with it myself. Its free, and I get to keep my warranty.

If you have a controller attached to the xbox and it is flashing (two rings alternating) then you should remove the controller and restart the xbox. The controller is malfunctioning and causing a general hardware failure 0102.

Just got my First RRod this week, after 5 years! That's gotta be some kinda record, haha. Oh well, sent it back for a free repair at least.

My friend picked up the new 250GB device and it RRod'd on him the first day he had it. Tried to return it for another one but the store was sold out already. The hilarity is he traded his working box for it. Yeah, I'm not lettin him hear the end of that for a while.

If you have had the system for 5 years how are you sending it back for a free repair? The extended warranty was only for 3 years.

Hello guys!

ok.. when I turn on my Xbox 360, I get the 1,3 and 4 lights flashing Red
As I read the threas at the beginning, that's a general hardware problem

So I tried to use the trick of holding the sync button and pressing several times the eject button until you get a 4 number code... but I usually just get all 4 lights illuminated... and that means a 0000 code... but there is no 0000 in the list

Even though I did get once a 0300 code, but it's not in the list either...

I tried to unplug all cables from the xbox, then reconnect them all... and removing the hard drive.. then turning on the console but I still get the same problem (1, 3 and 4 flashing red)

P.S. When I removed the hard drive and turned on the xbox, I tried the trick and got the code 0110, which means: "likely a Ram error, this can be caused by a cold or bridged solder joint on one of the Ram chips."
Could this be it? or I get that code just because I have my hard drive removed and then the console can´t recognize it connected to it??

Hope you can help me

I've gone through 7 systems now

1st - Rrod at 13 months old
2nd- DVD motor died
3rd- laser
4th- laser
5th- Rrod no warranty so I x- clamped it, lasted 15 months until..
6th- GPU started failing and graphical errors
7th is a Jasper model and hoping for better luck but I really doubt it.

Each one kept in ventilated room, on top of rack with nothing around it, very cool area.

Biggest piece of crap console in my 30yrs of gaming, and the ps3 ain't much better.

Sounds like you have multiple issues. Your console is likely correct in showing the 0110 error, which is a RAM chip failure, as you stated. The hard drive is suspect as well, and likely would show an E68 error if the 0110 wasn't there also. Since there are two errors, the console cannot show both at once, hence the issue when the hdd is in place.

My Jasper got RROD last week. I spent a lot of time tracking down that chipset when it first came out. It was one of the very first Jaspers (born 10-20-2008), and surely I did all that detective work to ensure what happened last week, wouldn't happen.

I am curious what you got if you opted for MS to send you a console, and you just put your broken one in the box the replacement came in.

I opted for repair, as my console is a "Jasper" (whoop-dee-doo apparently) - but I didn't want to get one of the older models that break even more often.

If you've opted for the "advanced replacement" option instead of repair recently, I want to know what chipset Xbox you got sent to you. Thanks

Does not matter what "chipset" you get. They are ALL defective. Accept for the newer slims/redesign. That was the only way they could truly fix them.

Well I'd be pissed if I got one of the 2005/6 models. When I first bought one in March of 2006, the damn thing RROD'd on me the very first day! THE FIRST NIGHT WITH THE DAMN THING!

I called customer support enraged. I asked the guy if the reason they were so hard to find was because MS knew they were defective and they were correcting the design. The dude straight up laughed at me and said there wasn't a problem. I probably spent the next month of my life dedicated to making fun of the Xbox. I posted all these messages on the official forums (acting as if I were serious) saying you needed to buy a $200 industrial grade exhaust fan, and point it at the Xbox. It was hilarious.

Here's another true life joke. If you call MS support, and the automated system says "OK, which system are you calling about? The original Xbox or Xbox 360?" and you respond "The one that always breaks", the automated system will actually say "OK. The Xbox 360"

E35/0203 is GPU related, possibly resistors. Pretty rare code...probably toast.

You could try LawDawg's fix and it might work, but if it's other and unless you have spare resistors lying around...

I'm not even sure the slim is a safe bet. I just bought one for $40 with a disc read error. Have been through several of the "fat" 360's myself. I agree with the poster which stated the biggest piece of crap game system ever. But the features (use the media extension personally) are what keep me coming back.

I've got a Oct 2006 system and it gave me the "RRoD" almost 1.5 years ago. I looked up the flashing code which turned out the be the more famous one...heat around the cpu. I cannot remember which video I followed but torn into mine, took those blasted "X" bars out, took off the heat sink and cleaned it and on top of the cpu and applied I think Artic Silver Thermal grease on top. Put everything back and zero problems. My only regret wasn't getting one of those special little tools to pop the snaps on the case.

Update on my Jasper chipset that got RROD.

I opted for the "repair" option, and not "advanced replacement" but the latest e-mail from Microsoft had a different serial number on my repair ticket. I called and got some poor script reading moron to help me. He read something off the script about "in the event the console is not repairable..."

What a bunch of idiots. I'm getting someone else's turd.

not a garunteed fixture for the problem but my guess would either be ventilation or dust ( most causes of red ring as people never clean the dust from inside)

Hey all, I just got the three red ring. I tried holding the eject and sync buttons. The four lights flash but when I hit eject the tray opens and it just keeps flashing all four lights. I can't get it to flash any codes. Any ideas?

You are keeping the sync button held down the entire time, correct?

I kept getting the beep and freeze with no light code.  It would just restart every time fine, and then, within seconds,

it would beepenfrozin*.  So I thought outside the 'Box!  Now it runs cool (albeit not quiet, nor portable).

The reason the ROM is upright is the short length of the factory cables + space for HDD.  I might mod it into an ATX...

-This is how desperate I was to play GTA V

*Beepenfrozin is a conjugation of a German verb for XBoX failure with no RROD
