I ordered this last night, thank god for slickdeals! I'd never held one until this past weekend - friend of mine has it and was very pleased with it. It felt nice, looked like it worked well, and from what I could tell his set-up process was fairly straightforward. I'm hoping it'll reduce the 6 remotes we currently have (TV, DVR, Receiver, Xbox, two DVD players) to one or two. :)

Nice find, just ordered. Odd though, it said it didn't qualify for free shipping but the price was $55 instead of $60. So with shipping it came to $64 and change, still a great deal, hadn't seen it for less than $100 before this.

The $55 price isn't from Amazon, which is why you didn't get free shipping.

I just got one as a gift and set it up today. I highly recommend it.
From 4 remotes down to one, and pressing one button to go from watching TV to playing 360 is a dream come true.

So, is this just a regular Universal remote? For AVR, DVD, TV (and now xbox360)?

I heard it was pretty much the same remote, just different colors and the xbox buttons replace some other buttons on the 550.

Still you can program the buttons to be whatever you want them to.

I have been using this remote for about 5 months now... I paid about $100 for it...

It's a very fine remote. The best remote I've had to date.

Looks like it is $90.

I was actually looking at the 880 model last night. It looks... prettier then this one and a bit smaller and more contoured. I don't mind spending a bit more for a better remote. Does anyone have any opinions on that model?

Avoid (IMO). The reasons:

- The version I had developed cradle issues where you had to fiddle with it to get it into its cradle to charge.
- There were also screen display issues that developed, washing out the image on the display over a period of a couple weeks to near unreadability.
- The battery life was horrid, I know the cradle is supposed to alleviate that problem, but the 360-edition of the Harmony has better battery life off 4 rechargeable AAAs than the 880 ever got in the range of /weeks/ (the 880 got a couple days for me).

The 880 is shinier, and while the features look compelling, sometimes simplicity works better than over-complicating the device like I felt the 880 did. I switched the 360 edition of the remote because I /liked/ the Harmony, but I hated the 880 model.

Can anyone verify that this remote can control a westinghouse 37w3? I haven't found anything that can work with this "monitor"hdtv.

Can't comfirm the 37" but I can confirm the 42" westy...it seems unlikely that it would work with one and not the other.

Does this thing go into a power save mode or anything? What can I expect out of the batteries? I thought it would go to sleep or something and kill the screen but I haven't noticed if it does yet.

Ok thanks, I do want to see what size the thing is anyone. I know Best Buy will have some for me to look at and then I'll just order online.

Thanks guys.

I disagree with the above review of the Harmony 880. I've had nothing but success with mine, no problems with cradle charging, no screen washout problems.

While it is a bit of a chore to setup and get used to initially, once I got it down, I don't see how I ever lived without it.

Well worth the $150 if you ask me.

Life is easiest when you use the search engine. Try Logitech Harmony--I often have success when using a product's name while shopping.

After that little outburst, please be kind enough to link it. I cannot find it either. I don't believe it's even listed anymore.

Lighten up, Francis. Given that the linked store was providing the $55 price on Amazon, it's likely that they've sold out.

Interesting, 5150, that you could quickly make a post berating others but when it's turned around on you, you can't take it like a man.

Did I whine about it? You seem to be whining about it, but perhaps that's just my impression. Shopping online is a lot like shopping at brick and mortar--if you can't find what you want, you ask someone there (or a search engine). If they don't have it, you get it somewhere else. My apologies for attempting to point that out in a not-so-serious way.

For a guy that comes off as not liking any sort of sarcasm and flaming, you seem very willing to participate in it.
