I have my 360 hooked up via the microsoft component cables to a panasonic 42px60u. I'm noticing a lot of what I would describe as noise or fuzz when viewing dark backgrounds(loading screens, weapons in RB6, anything black basically). It looks like tiny green and red dots(the size of one pixel) flying around. any idea what could be causing this?

I haven't noticed this. I have rb6 but have yet to play it due to trying to complete other games. I have played on a Maxent plazma (currently) and a Panasonic AE900U. No problems on either. Sounds like it could be your cable connection. Make sure they are tight.

If you lower your brightness a few notches it should go away...

I have noticed that problem and I thought it was a problem with my TV

now I am not saying this is the cause of the problem but all I know is I tried 3 M$ Component cables with the same result

then I bought the Monster Component cables no problem like I said I am not saying it was the M$ cables but without them no problems

there is a topic I started but I have had some people say the test is not accurate but here is is

i saw this same thing over component, i switched to the microsoft vga cables and it's gone now. so is a LOT of the tearing that was going on, along with some of the jaggies.

No trees were harmed forming this post, though many electrons were inconvenienced.

I would also suggestion turning down or completely turning OFF the TV's sharpness control. Sharpness does not make a picture look better. Especially a HD one.

picture seemed pretty soft with the sharpness turned way down, but I'll give it a try. not sure why it would get rid of the noise/fuzziness I'm experiencing, but I'm no expert.

I have the exact same tv and have noticed the same thing today while playing. There is noise not only during the loading screens, but I noticed that there is noise during the game.

However I have only noticed it with that one game. Let me know if you figure out what it could be, or if you found a way to get rid of it.

Have you tried what I said above? It worked for me and didn't have to buy expensive cables...I have a 9UK 50" and when I lowered the brightness the problem went away...to compensate for the slight drop in brightness I just raised the contrast (picture) a few notches...

thanks for the input. I'll give it a whirl and report back.

I'm pretty sure what your seeing is inherent to Plasma technoloy.
Every plasma panel has that, just turn down the brightness & contrast & it will lessen it.

probley because your TV has a crappy scaller and video precessor that cant be turned off or bypassed

but VGA probally bypasses it since it is assumed that the VGA would have the video processing and other stuff done by the PC which would probally be pluged into it

TV makers put stupit "enhancements" on their sets that ruin the picture

the Samsung I think had this problem with the DNIe you couldnt turn it off and it would fail 3:2 test and deinterlacing the later models had this fixed it was put there to make the picture better but it made it worse really stupid if you ask me these so called "encahcements" always ruin the picture

I want the retro skin back please
