Yes, I didn't even know that you could kill him. I just walked right by that area. (well actually I crouched by that area)

guys I took some incredibly brutal youtubes last night and I'm attempting to load them up, computer is slow here at work. We're talking sawed off shotty to the skull VATS shots among others. My 2 victims were the junky in Megaton and the lady outside of megaton in the small cottage. It's awful, yet funny as hell. I'll post them as soon as I can

I am actually having a slow start since leaving the vault. I have very little caps to pay for the needed info. I don't seem to have high enough skill to do some of the quests (like pipe repair).

I did acquire a sniper rifle, has no sell price.

just play at your own pace. That's half the fun of this masterpiece. Throw on that patriotic radio station and go out and tear up the world. You know, in the last month, I have picked up 2 of the BEST games I've ever played in their respective genres: NHL 09 and Fallout 3. This game is so addictive and fun that I simply can't believe what I'm playing here. The ONLY gripe I have with this game is the lack of color. There was something magical about oblivion when you'd come out of a cave into the crisp night air, the wind blowing, crickets chirping. I'd just crank the music and ambience in that game with surround on and the projector going. You don't get that with this game, but this is a post apocolyptic wasteland and I understand that. Last night I had such a blast with this game, putting together those youtubes and progressing.

sniper rifle?
I was wondering if there was one in the game. is that what it's called (in the inventory)?

I have almost every kind of (early game) weapon but that

Hunting Rifle
Assault Rifle
Laser Rifle
Laser Pistol
10mm Pistol
.32 Pistol (Chinese too)
Combat Shotgun
Sawed Off Shotgun
Missle Launcher
Fatman
MiniGun

I'm sure there are some I'm forgetting, but I've seen no "scoped" weapons

the flamer is one beast of a gun. I had 2 coked up raiders chasing me up these stairs and flipped that thing on and just turned them into crispy corpses. I like using the mines too.

I've only run across one sniper rifle so far. I'm 40 hours in, so I don't remember exactly where I found it. It was on the top floor of some urban building, maybe in Grayditch. I have a scoped 44 magnum I picked up pretty early.

Grenades and mines are priceless for fighting off scorpions and mucklurks. If your sniper rifle has no sell price, that's because it's at 1% and needs to be repaired - if you try to shoot it it will break. If anyone is looking for a sniper rifle then

go to Minefield, there's a sniper in that town

Anyone make any items? I've made a nuka grenade but haven't used it, and also a shishkebob - can't wait to try that one out!

It is Sniper Rifle in inv, I killed a guy on the way to the town (on the overpass) from megaton Sam Willock or something like that. He was red to me, so I shot him up

I already have the offer to blow up the town, which I may do... but I need caps to buy the info. Starting to run low on ammo... so where do you all get caps to start?

Get caps by selling stuff you find.

I just got a lockup while killing a dog - game is frozen

*eta

Sometimes you get more money if you repair an item using a second of the same item - this works better with lower quality items, and it also reduces weight.

He's part of an optional mission, so if you kill him early you won't be able to complete it. It's not anything major though.

I would suggest going to the Super Duper Mart (per Moira's, in Megaton, quest). not sure how many caps I got there, but you get alot of stuff, early game.
searching lockers, desks, etc yield caps. also feral goules yield caps generally

Yes.

BTW, I was having trouble seeing in dark tunnels, wishing for the spells or tourches of Oblivion....... then found out theres a flashlight in this game. Did it ever actually tell us that in game....or the manual? Holding B instead of just pressing it to pull up the pipboy will turn on the flashlight.

yes, it mentioned it in the vault (which was mostly just a tutorial)

I love the wasteland. Beautiful desolation. My only minor gripe is the enemies seeing you from so far away, before you can see them usually, and being so accurate from long distance.

Are there enough books that give skill points to make taking the book-points perk worthwhile? I think Educated is a must at level 4, was wondering if Comprehension was.

I am a pack rat in the game, as I have no idea what will be useful later on :-/

I made a ton of money at the elementary school; about a dozen guys in three levels, each pretty much alone. I'd shoot one up; go sleep an hour, shoot another.
(Since I got out of the vault on the strength of the baseball bat, I had plenty of ammo.)
Plus there is a ton of debris there to sell off; I made about 1000 caps by level 2 and bought the schematic for the rock launcher.

Worth remembering that, while there is no right way or wrong way to play this game; you *can* take advantage of the design choices the developers made. In this case, the fact that it pays to be a scavenger.

This is one game where the hyena outlives the lion.

This may sound stupid, but what is the damn command to drop stuff? In the beginning I knew how but then I forgot and now I either have to put stuff in boxes or corpses to dump them. Sometimes the 360 commands are frustrating.

BFBC2: Wagman

So i've finally started playing this game tonight (bought it on release day) and so far i love it. I was never really got into many RPG type games, but this is just awesome!

So i'm about to leave vault 101, and i'm going over all the special stats, and the skills. What would be a good way to distribute the 5 special points, any recommendations?

Also what would be good for the 3 tag skills? I'm thinking small guns, science, and lockpicking.

And as far as the first perk i have no clue.

I know it probably comes down to personal preference and how you want to play the game and what not, but i was just wondering what others think.
