I just got off the phone with the big M today and they said they received my console 2 days ago and the turn around will be 4-6 weeks.

I told the ref you got to be f'n kidding me, before it was about 1.5 weeks...Her reply? "Yes it use to be that way but now that we have extended our warranties at no extra charge the wait time is longer" I reminded her that I paid for my warranty and this is my 3rd time sending it in. Her reply "Sorry for the inconvience but we extended your warranty an additional 3 years on top of what you paid for and you will receive your console back in 4-6 weeks" I told her I was at a loss of words because I paid for my LIVE and my video services which I am still being charged for yet not getting to use...She replies "I am sorry but our process is now 4-6 weeks now"

This is what we got for a free extension? No thank you, after I get my console back and my LIVE subscription runs out its getting dumped bin...Seriously, this is just ridiculous because we know its going to happen again...4 consoles in 1.5 window span is just absurd...

You know what if you are going to F*ck me at least look me in the eyes and kiss me when you do it.

BIG THUMBS DOWN..Or thumb up my ass...Yes I am irate at this, its just unacceptable.

yeah, they need to address the service time. I just got mine back last week and it was out for 5 weeks.

Of Course the wait will be longer. Basic economic principle of supply and demand. When supply of free console repair increases, demand for people who were putting it off/ had a dead 360 on the shelf and now want their units fixed have increased, so of course, the wait time will increase. Don't be so surprised. Sucks for you, but it's not some sort of conspiracy, and not worth getting so upset over. Patience grasshopper.

I hope I never do anything to bring shame to myself, my family......or my other family.

Yeah, I would imagine there were quite a few that had RROD errors on consoles and had just given up on them because they were not going to spend the money to get them replaced. Then suddenly it is like, "oh crap, I can get it fixed for free now without an extended warranty!" I'm sure they got a boatload of calls.

I had even considered buying a broken one on ebay(w/original receipt) and then sending it in but decided to just wait on a price drop to get my second 360 (need another to keep the wife and kids off of mine...lol)

wow when are you people going to switch over to the ps3?? 360 has a over 33% failure rate LOL. PS3 has less than 1% and Sony's turnaround time is way faster.

Maybe 2 games from that list that I would consider renting (okay, I'd buy GRan Turismo) Compare that to the 360 owners dilemma, BioShock, Mass Effect, Halo 3 on top of GTA IV, Assassins Creed CoD 4. The PS3 Game library simply doesn't compare, at all. Plus, it seems like most PS3 games have that weird Japanese flare to them that makes them....well....suck. This thread is going to get closed

It's hard to take threads that start with 'OMG' too seriously. If you can't live without your 360 for 4-6 weeks, how are you going to live without it after you sell?

According to an interview with Peter Moore they're ramping up all of their repair centers. Of course there is going to be a bit of backlog at the start since everyone who was out of warranty originally will be sending in their system for repair the first chance they get. After a little while it should be back to normal.

I can't see why they would make anyone make 6-8 weeks for a repair, unless they're short of components to repair them with. Or are actually waiting on new components that aren't even available yet (Think 65nm parts). Either ways, it's entirely unacceptable IMO. If the waiting period was going to change that dramatically, they should have mentioned it at the time they announced the warranty.

I suppose the only good side of this might be that they're likely going to implement solid fixes to the consoles this time around, as opposed to the half assed job they've been doing so far.

Also I wouldnt take the word of a CS rep as policy for a company. This would need to be verified by multiple people then it can be brought to MS's attention that the extra wait is not to customers liking. It could also be a temporary situation till they have all their repair centers up to speed.

As with any servicing whether it be cell phones, cable service, etc... Not every customer rep gets the same training or the same responsibilities. If one rep doesn't do it right, call back and talk to another rep.

I was talking to one customer rep for an emergency flight home for a funeral. She said that I couldn't get a discount because I hadn't filed the paperwork yet and said the only available ticket was a 1-way ticket for $1800! I was like WTH??? I argued for like 15 minutes and she wouldn't budge.

I then called back, got a different rep and it was an entirely different situation. The lady got me a discount and told me I could send the paperwork back later.

Calling is always the luck of the draw. Sometimes you get an ***hole, other times you get a great person.

Im not bringing in other consoles into this because I already own them but currently dont use them. 20 minutes ago a supervisor called me to talk about the problem I told him and he was polite but still BSing me and confirmed it would take 4-6 weeks...I told him it was unacceptable because I paid for my warranty and shouldnt be put at the end of the line especially since this is a reoccuring problem and I am losing out on my video rentals as well as my LIVE service so more is at stake then not being able to play video games...Its just unacceptable 4 within 1.5 years shouldnt even be happening....

My days of a 360 gamer are over officially as of today, sad day because I held it with high regard compared to the others but since majority of the games I play are multiplatform its a non-issue...Gears of War will be missed.

We have GTA IV, Assassins Creed and COD 4 aswell. Only a true AND UTTER FANBOY WOULD TELL ME THAT THE GAMES I LISTED SUCK. THEY ARE ALL AAA TITLES. I love the ms xbots on this board.

It took them 4 weeks to repair my 360. I just got it back yesterday.

Their reps are anything but helpful. I seriously think they just read stuff off a card because you ask a question like "will I be reimbursed for my Live subscription?" and they answer with something like "I am sorry. We will give you a tracking number as soon as we receive it." What the hell?

You and many others have had the very same experience with multiple consoles. It is a shame that quality control on 360's is even worse than before..

They offered me a free 120 gig HDD when I first called it in and expressed my distraught with their console and my to frequent failure rate over the short span I had it...I declined and just told them I wanted a console that would work...They didnt know what to say when I declined since most people try to sucker them out of a game or something.

When I talked to the rep today they offered nothing but even 1 month of live free wouldnt cut it IMO....All I wanted was a freaking working console that lasted longer than 4-6 months....Give me a 1.5 week turn around and I probably wouldnt be this angered but the time frame they given me just broke the last straw...

Its a shame, I freaking love my 360 more than any other gaming console...

I am not sure, but if its an off shore call center, they do read off cards(well on a computer anyway).

When you first call in, they use a decision tree question/answer session. When they get to the end of the tree... they have nothing left to say.

Anyway, 4-6 weeks is terrible. They should definately at least extend your service for 1.5 months. After all its their poor design that means you are out of your xbox for up to six weeks.

Also, thats BS, that they say "Now that we extended your warranty" Utter crap. They didnt extend your warranty on the entire xbox. They will cover one specific widespread problem for up to 3 years. And that problem is caused by their poor design.
