Can you playback the MKVs with DTS with the media player? If not then it's a setting in AC3 filter. Had the same issue when encoding a file with DTS in TmpgEnc 4 Xpress.

Just curious, what settings give you best results when converting to WMV?

Marc.

You can try a program called Encode360 at www.dcunningham.net. It has taken pretty much everything I have thrown at it.

if you want you can easily convert the DTS track to an AC3 track. here's a tutorial i wrote up over at xbox-scene regarding this.

http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=623114

also, i'm not trying to highjack here. but what are you guys using to encode with. i have the latest version of tmpgenc 4.0 xpress and the output is great. my only problem is that first few minutes of the video stutter. it's as if it has a dropped frame rate. after the first ~5 mins it clears up and the rest of the video is smooth as butter. i have racked my brain with this problem and no one else has been able to solve the issue either.
