VERY nice game, button masher, but I happen to like button mashers. Also if you have PS3 and 360 these screenshots may be of interest to you, turns out it looks a teeny tiny bit better on 360, but the difference is so tiny, it still looks great on PS3.

Not into hack and slash games but I will download the demo just to see how the game looks.

There are a lot of web sites comparing the graphics between the two systems. Looks like the 360 has much cleaner lines and sharpness. There are a lot less jaggies (at least from the few sites I could see). Looks like I will stick with the 360 version.

It really comes down to your setup, your configuration, your settings. The two look practically identical. I notice no difference when switching between the two.

I'm really not sure how those shots were taken, but I did an extensive nitpick last night, going back and forth between versions. Both hooked up via HMDI on a Samsung 50" DLP, and it looks like the 360 has a little more antialiasing, and the sharpness looks the same to me. I think in some of those comparisons the PS3 images were direct caps, but via component, which might make a difference. I dunno.

As I like to obsess over stuff like this, the difference really isn't as big as it's made out to be. Much less difference than, say, Madden football on the old Xbox vs PS2. Even more so once you buy the game for one system and start playing it without going back and forth. I'd say the difference is graphics is about as equal in weight as your choice of controller, or the difference in load times (360) vs. no load times(but w/ HD install).
Make your decision on whatever of those is most important to you. Both look fantastic in the heat of battle, and it's a no-lose either way. I'm just glad they're just so darn close that we can obsess this much over it and it's still almost a wash as to which is superior.
Either way, Capcom should be commended. Whatever system, buy it!

The graphics are truly amazing at times. Wow, such a cool looking game. I hope I don't get bored with the repetitive but I really like it and am looking forward to picking it up.

Still coming out soon or was it delayed?

I am looking forward to the PC version with a controller. Potential for higher resolutions, higher framerates, decreased load times, more eye candy features turned on. If they do a good job putting it on the PC that is.

I can't tell any difference in Video or Audio between them. I have a Sony SXRD with an Onkyo 705 (7.1 setup) connected to PS3 and Xbox via HDMI. I spent a good 30 mins just flipping between the 2 at different stages of the timed level and then I played about 5 times on each of them all with the sound cranked up.

For me I prefer the controls on the PS3, which is normally not the case as in general I much prefer the 360 controller.

The PS3 version will supposedly have lossless audio in the final version. Obviously, a ~700mb demo won't have that.

Both systems were running it at the same time, and I was switching between video inputs. I have surround sound, but my audio switching is automatic, and I would have had to keep getting up to switch between the two, so I only heard the xbox sound since it was powered on second and got auto-switched to it. As long as I can get dolby surround, I'm not too much of an audiophile and live in an apartment where I can't really crank it, so I couldn't speak for the audio comparison.

I did my own compare and it's obvious this is true. 360 for me too. PS3 for Burnout though.

Here's a side by side comparison of one particular part. Of course, this would be completely unnoticable if it was in motion.

Look at the floor/door textures in both shots. The 360 clearly has much sharper textures. Why is that?

Xbox 360

PS3

I wonder if my arcade stick would work with this game...something tells me the right stick controls the camera, in which case it wouldn't work. Too bad, an arcade stick with this button whaler would be ideal

If this game had co-op with either split screen or same screen then I would be all over it. I've been looking for a good hack and slash game to play with my girlfriend, we last played 'Hunter: The Reckoning Redeemer' for xbox.

Unfortunately it doesn't, which means I probably won't get it unless I find it for $20-$30. Also I'm not sure how the gameplay works...do you build up stats and skills, or are you just given more abilities as you progress.

The game does look very good though.

Wow, what a difference from 360 to PS3. It sucks that multi platform games are still doing this! I mean, Judging from Uncharted, the PS3 certainly does have the muscle to push out some splendid GFX.

It was later confirmed by the guy who made the picture comparisons that the PS3 screenshot was done using a Component cable with Full RGB setting turned off. The two versions look exactly the same with a PS3 HDMI cable and Full RGB turned on.

I tried out the Demo....stopped after about 20min. I admit the game visually looks great but its just not my cup of tea playwise. I am sure my controller will thank me =P

I guess I enjoyed the demo. I've never played Devil May Cry before, so I'm not really sure what was going on, other than there was some Japanese guy with a weird arm. I'm sure there is some deep complex videogame story to go along with it, involving some kindof curse and perhaps a girl or lost memories, but that's just my guess. If I get the game I'll look it up.

The awkward camera cuts were kindof annoying. Sometimes it felt like a platformer, and then the camera would cut to another angle so it would feel like I was playing an old Resident Evil again.

I enjoyed it for the most part. Not sure I'll buy it though.

i played through the first 3, and part 3 was a chore (mainly due to difficulty). The demo was fun, but I don't think I'll be playing through the full version.

I've never played any DMC before so I wasn't sure what to expect. The thing I like best is the combo system. Kinda reminds of the capcom VS. fighting game series with the pop-ups and air combos. I like jumping than grabbing them off the ground, doing a couple sword slashes, maybe a gunshot or two than finishing with an air throw. Pretty cool. Not sure if I'll buy it though as I'm unsure of the replay value and didn't like the camera angles either. The games looks great. Definate rental, maybe a buy based on reviews.
