Ferrari F40, cool, Art Morrison Corvette'60, really cool, Tuned cars, cool, Drift mode, no biggie (maybe cool for you but not so much for me), 2 player split screen, extremely cool!

I've been playing the Japanese version of GT5P since December & am really looking forward to the N.A. release if for no other reason so that I'll be able to read & understand everything in the menus, news & GTTV!
They have been real good about changing up the races every week so the online races don't get stale, I've already pre-ordered my copy!

This game looks like it's only 35% of the content from the final version of GT5, and it's $40?

Get real.

Its not even that much of the game in my guess. Just because the final games such a good deal doesn't make this a ripoff.

I don't think $40 is too much to hold me off for a year or so before the full version comes out. I mean it comes with online play and everything.

Is it possible to have a GT5 Prologue thread WITHOUT some one bitching about the price?

Thanks for the info, the car lineup looks pretty good!

Seems that most of the more exotic cars are missing from the the list , Lambo's, Mclaren, SSC Aero, Porche, Bugatti etc. Henestly I'm not a car buff so maybe I'm missing something here. What other cars might we expect to see in the full version ? Do people expect that Prologe will add cars and tracks time progresses?

reefbone the full version will have anywhere from 200 to 600 cars most likely.

As for adding cars and tracks... maybe in the Fall or something.

IMO this $40 game comes with more content than a lot of $60 games, and honestly I doubt Polyphony would be able to make GT5 up to their exacting standards, which is costing an enormous amount of money, if they did not have the income stream from Prologue. Anyone who just spits out "LOL FORTY DOLLARS FOR A DEMO NAH AH" has to put it into perspective. You don't have to buy it of course, but you have to see what they are doing here.

200-600 cars... wow ! I would agree about the content/price. I even thought the free demo had quite a bit of content and was the fullest demo of any I've ever seen. I sure would like to get a nice wheel but I doubt the wife is (1) going to go for the $ and (2) will allow it to be seen in the den.

You can pick up the Logitech Driving Force Pro, (last year model works great too) for under a $100, and then make or buy a little ottoman chair that has enough space to fit the steering wheel and pedals inside when your not playing. It definitely makes the game a lot more fun and as I've said in other posts, most of the time I wouldn't even bother playing without the steering wheel.

Whats that saying.. when there is a will, there is a way?

The ottomans a good idea. I do have a woodshop. But I think I'd have to get the GT25

Get real.

Actually it's more like 15%-20% of the full game.
I paid $70 for the Japanese version shipped 2 day air from Hong Kong & it was worth every penny even though there is no English language option & I don't understand Japanese!
It's the only game that I've played on my PS3 in almost 3 months!!
Getting the North American version is a no brainer for me, it's just that good of a game!
I've seen pics of a GT5P PS3 bundle for the UK & wouldn't be surprised to see one here too.
That's about as real as it gets!

When the Girlfriends away the boys will play!
Here's my simple setup,

I just cut the back off an old chair she got for $1 at a garage sale, removed the seat & clamped the wheel to it.
It's small enough to store in a closet so the acceptance factor is high!

The Dual Force GT wheel will be released about the same time as GT5P & is cheaper than the G25 wheel & will do more.

I'll be getting the DFGT wheel to replace my wore out DFP wheel & wait until the full GT5 is released to get the G25 type wheel that is sure to be realeased with it.

picking this up when it hits. right now you can get it on the japan store. might as well get the BD for the extra content. $40? cool. i would rather spend it on this something that i know i am going to like rather than blow it on somthing stupid.

Hey Moose, you say the new new dual force GT wheel does more than the G25. I see in the link you provided that it has a brake bias adjustment knob. Is there somehting else that it does that the G25 does not?

I can't wait to try my G25 on proper road cars! (Currently play GTR2)

You can Fine-tune brake bias, traction control & shock settings on the fly & there may be other settings too.

But the DFGT doesn't have the 6speed and clutch... Also I've read thatthe G25 is bit a lot nicer. I too was a bit surprised they didn't come out with a GT G25 wheel.. if it comes out next year.. guess I'll just sell mine or just add another and have my buddies chip in to use it

Online gaming alone is worth it! Hope progress will be used in Full Game. Licenses better be transfered over, that would give people who bought $40 "demo" then $60 "real" game as this will be huge online game!

Yea the DFGT is an update of the DFP, the G25 is a more expensive & better built version.
I'm betting the GT25 will be released with GT5 & it will have all the new options & more that the DFGT has.

You need to get a better wife, one that allows your gaming and even encourages it like mine :-)

On another note, what you can do is make another one out of plywood that breaks down so it can be stored a lot easier.

Oh yeah!! Cant wait my self...

P.S The G25 wheel is much better than the new Logitech. I do dig the quick buttons on the new Logitech, but the over all feel G25 wins.

It was used across the floor at GDC08.

Aquasal, post a pic of your "playing" area, and I will figure something out for you. No man(or woman) should be denied of playing the Gran Turismo series without a steering wheel and pedals.

Agreed! Get your wife to play with you! I got my wife (girlfriend then) hooked on the original Resident Evil games back in college. I'd run the controls and she'd submit input about the puzzles and where to go while we drank ourselves silly in my fraternity house. Then she picked up a controller one day whileI was playing GT4 and raced with me all night (let her win or just barely beat her every once in a while- it helps.) Now I bought HER Rock Band for christmas and can't get her off of the dam PS3!
