Even though its nice to "think" you're too old for doing "silly" stuff like that, you should give it a try next time theres a big release. The atmosphere is fun and you can just sit back and watch if you dont want to get involved in the "ownage" and exchanging of gamertags for murder in the wee hours. Dont give in to the "Im too old" mentality, when you're not that different than the other people there.

So you're saying it wasnt even remotely fun/interesting/humorous/exciting? What are you doing at midnight that is more worth your time?

I was being more facetious than anything and don't begrudge anyone of their fun. Seriously, though, I have meetings on Fridays and will be going to sleep by 12:30 tonight, so I won't have time to play it until Friday night anyway.

Look, I'm not passing judgement if you dig it. I just have no interest in standing in line with a bunch of teenagers jonesing for the newest game.

Anyone know if Best Buy is opening at midnight tonight for the release? Is there a list of stores anywhere?

Guin, I think it would be best to call your local stores to see if any are having midnight launches for the game.

IIRC, most GameStops are doing midnight launches as many people have received calls from "Ashley from GameStop" saying that the game will be available at 10pm.

Gamestop is selling them at 10? Is that for only people that pre ordered? I hate gamestop but I guess I'll have to call around...

I believe it's only for people that pre-ordered.

I've pre-ordered from Amazon but what I plan on doing is still going to Best Buy tomorrow morning and purchasing the game and then when my Amazon copy comes in I'll return the unopened copy. That's only because the mail-person has been coming later and later everyday (I didn't receive my mail until 5:30pm yesterday).

Sleeping? Going out? Actually playing a game rather than standing in line for one when I can just go the next day and get it in less than 5 minutes? Pretty much anything.

Im not taking offense, just questioning. I too would normally say something like "im too old for that" but I always have fun when I do things I would normally say I too old for.

Yeah, none of my metro area BB here in the lovely state of Colorado are opening for a midnight sale - at least that's what I was told last Saturday by the video game department blue shirt.

Guess I'll be picking my copy up tomorrow as well...bright and early.

Is it going to be the peak of visual quality for the PS3?

I think they should cease to make games after Killzone2 is released. No one is going to be able to top this.

I certainly hope not as the system is going to be around for a few years yet, and if this is as good as it gets, that's not saying much. They wanted 10 years out of this system which to me is pipe dream. Granted, there is no reason why they couldn't sell it for 10 years like they are doing with the ps2 but to remain competitive technology wise, I hope there is a lot more untapped power inside this pretty little box.

But, alas, I get the feeling, this may be as good as it gets.

I was at my local Costco over lunch this afternoon (buying something else) and picked up a copy of the game. Unfortunately I won't be able to play game until tomorrow but its cool that I have a copy in hand. May want to try Costco in your area and start playing today.
