I'm assuming this is an All-Pro difficulty 5-min quarter league?

Here's the player ratings for those interested in doing some pre-season roster management. Looks like they've toned down some of the ratings from past years.

Yes, all pro difficulty 5 min quarters. Do we want to have fitigue and injuries on or off? I prefer to have fatigue on but turn off injuries.

I vote for fatigue on and injuries on...just maybe tone down the injury frequency if there is an option/slider to do so.

IMO it makes it more interesting if you are forced to work thru a few injuries to your roster...it just sucks if your best players get hurt!

very second post after the initial league request I thought someone requested the Cowboys. I don't care anyway, its a W for me.

The default sliders with fatigue and injuries on isn't that bad. All-pro difficulty it is.

I need to start sending out some friend requests.

He only said "If I buy the game, I'm in." Therefore, he wasn't 100% committed so the Cowboys were still available.

right. I'm not 100% committed yet, so you guys take them.

I did enjoy the demo, but I'm still not sure if I want to give up $60 for 2010 yet. How much longer will they keep the Madden 2009 online servers running?

EDIT: Looks like they just shut down madden 07 in April, so I guess 2009 will stay running for at least another year or so. http://games.ea.com/information.jsp

I only wish Braylon Edwards would stop putting butter on his hands before a game. That dude cost me in my fantasy league last year.

How will free agents be handled in the online franchise? I'm thinking back to my PC days when the lowest rated teams were allowed to select first, kind of like a 1 or 2 round FA draft. To be fair someone would have to objectively select FAs for the teams without owners when the league starts.

Any ideas?

OS just posted a preview of franchise and online franchise modes. Looks like you can limit teams so if we're having a hard time filling up 32 owner we may want to cut it off at 24 and hopefully you can choose which teams will be left out of the league. Here's what OS says about online franchise.

Let me quickly go over the options for Online Franchise. For anyone that didn't know, you can't adjust sliders for online franchises.

Create Online Franchise
Franchise Name (Up to 21 letters)
Team (Pick your team here)
Max Users (2, 4, 8, 12, 16, 24, 32)
Fantasy Draft (On/Off)
Game Skill (Rookie, Pro, All-Pro, All-Madden)
Quarter Length (1-15 minutes)
Accelerated Clock (Off, 15, 20, 25 seconds)
Acccelerated Presentation (On/Off)
Injuries (On/Off)
Trading (On/Off, On - No CPU Trades)
Weather (On/Off)
Fatigue (On/Off)
Password

Commissioner Options
Advance Week
Game skill, quarter length, accelerated clock
Intjuries
Fatige
Trading
Weather
Max users
Allow join
Post news for the rest of the players to see
Send/view chise invites view pending
Password
Promote to commish
Boot from franchise
Delete franchise
Looks like u can join up to 5 OL franchises

You can't change the camera angle in online franchise, not sure if you guys were aware of that.

meh... if you want to lock up your cap w/ a bunch of FA signing I say go for it. I think the only rule should be if you sign a FA he has to be at least #2 in the depth chart (#4 for receiver). That way people can't buy up players just to keep them out of contention.

It doesn't matter what the rule is as long as it's a rule the everyone agrees to. But what would be the point in having FAs if you couldn't use them to help your team? Once a player is on your team there shouldn't be any restrictions on where they fall on the depth chart as long as you're not playing them out of position.

the point would be to keep good players out of the pool. the restriction is to make sure they actually are using them to help their team

In years past the FA pool has been a mediocre bunch of talent. Which players in this year's FA pool have you so concerned that they'll turn a bad team into a Super Bowl contender by signing a few players?

It more of a concern in later years. Currently it's not a big deal, but when com or other players let go of decent (but old or greedy) guys. The FA pool usually has lot to offer in back ups or complimentary R/FB or 3rd, 4th recievers, OLB's, T's, Secondary ect...

I don't have any issue's free agency. It's when someone w/ a lot of cap room head hunts the best available players weather he needs them or not. The one he doesn't need he just sits own to weaken the comp.

Which reminds me... if we play a 2010-11 season will the cap automatically be lifted?

Well, in real life the teams with the most cap room sign the players. I see no problem having free agents available to anyone who wants them. It's all part of building up your team...free agency, drafts, trades, etc.

hey there. Sorry i just realized this, but my PSN name is not plural LOL. It should be seahawkfan2311. My mistake.....still kinda new to ps3. Only been a few months. Also, when the league starts, I should be able to play my games after 10pm PST on weekdays, possibly after 5pm if needed. And mostly all day on weekends. On weekdays, usually have to wait till after wife and kid are asleep for the gaming LOL. Let me know if this is too big of an issue. This sounds like fun. I have never played an online football league. Not much of an online player, but thought i would give it a shot.
