Any of the above. Sony's shareholders have been pretty clear on what they think of anything that smells of price drops.

Retailers have taken it upon themselves to sweeten the deal several times this year, especially the 'buy Vita, get $50 gift card' deals we've seen at several B&M dealers. Thats as close to a price cut as we'll get outside these upcoming holiday deals.

Too many systems and games....not enough time or money!

Persona 4 Golden is awesome. I was expecting a lot and the game doesn't disappoint. It's the best "traditional" (I exclude VC and DS) jrpg I've played in recent memory (not that there was a lot to choose from this gen). The great thing is that this game works really well on a handheld. I'm actually kind of glad I missed out on the PS2 version and get to experience it for the first time on the Vita.

I agree that Sine Mora is great on Vita too.

I bought Music Unlimited. It works fine on my Vita, but the iOS app keeps giving me a "network unavailable" message.

I just got Music Unlimited as well for the $12 price and so far I am very disapponted. The iOS app is very slow and for some reason I cannot login using the browser app (it times out)...can someone try this and tell me if it works? I know this isn't specifically Vita related but I know people have signed up for the service recently here...

I get that on my Nexus, they must be getting slammed.

I love PS+ too but I'm realizing in order to take advantage of it all I'm going to have to spend extra $$ on another memory card...I only have an 8GB so I'm either going to get a 16GB card and just move things on/off once in awhile or just say the heck with it and get the 32GB...so really I have to spend more in order to get more free stuff!

yeah, this is a big problem. I'm in the same exact boat. Currently have an 8 gig card, and PS+ and an 8 gig card isn't a very good match. Maximum storage is necessary. There is a guy selling a 32 gig vita memory card on my local Craigslist for $45. I need to get that puppy asap. Hopefully he still has it....

Yep, clearly Sony figured out that offering all those 'free' games on PS+ is a way to nudge people into forking out on the larger memory cards.

From Polygon.com:

An Assassin's Creed 3 PlayStation Vita bundle is hitting Amazon.com today for $179.99, and will feature a white PS Vita, a 4GB memory card and copy of Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation for the handheld device.
Also included in the Thanksgiving deal is download code for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, 30-day code for PlayStation Plus and a $10 Gift Card toward Assassin's Creed 3 on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 consoles, an Amazon representative told Polygon.

This follows last week's reveal from Sony regarding an Assassin's Creed 3 Vita bundle including a PlayStation Vita limited Edition white Wifi device, Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation and a 4GB memory card for $199.99.
Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation received a 6 out of 10 from Polygon, stating "Ubisoft's desire to transcend low expectations for handheld spin-offs is clear."

Cheese and Rice I can't believe how much belly-aching there is about the ability to have swappable memory! Right away I got the 32 Gig... and it's a couple gig away from being full. Do I want a 64 or 128? Yes. But my point is more that if you want an ipad 32 instead of an ipad 16, you fork out another 100 bucks. If you want an Asus Transformer 64 instead of a 32, you fork out another 100 bucks. How much worse would it be if the Vita was sold in 16, 32 or 64 Gig models? Swappable internal storage is awesome. Now bring out the 256 Gig chips, come on Sony!

I'm not sure, but it isn't relevant. As all of us, I'd have rather seen SD cards utilized. I'd have a monster in my Vita if it accepted SDs.

There is no good reason to have every game you own on a memory card at all times. With my 16GB I have UC:GA, Wipeout w/expansions, Gravity Rush, LBP:V, Mutant Blobs, Escape Artist, SSDD, Hot Shots Golf, few other small things and the card for Motal Kombat.

_____
I was going to make a separate post for this, but a leak made the news before I could!

To confirm, yes, this deal is happening.

Details:

White PlayStation Vita (Wi-fi)
Retail copy of Assassin's Creed III Liberation
4GB Memory Card
Download code for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (Vita)
3 months of PlayStation Plus
$10 Gift Card good towards Assassin's Creed 3 (360/PS3)
$179.99

It'll go live on our gold box page at noon PST in the Deal of the Day slot. We've got way more inventory for this than we do for any of our four-hour Lightning Deals, but don't plan to wait six hours and still get your hands on one.

I'll be checking this thread throughout the day / evening / morning to answer any questions anyone's got.

Happy Thanksgiving!

~Josh
______

So it's actually 3 months of Plus. I guess Amazon must be expecting a lot of people to also be buying the 16GB and especially 32GB cards. It's true that the minute Sony announced which games are going to be on Plus, their was a big boost in 32GB sales.

Possibly old news but I just read a posting on NeoGaf that Sony slashed the prices on Memory cards. Nothing to be too excited about since the prices are very close to Amazon's. If only they would release a 64GB card for $100 and reduce the 32GB card for $50 or $60. At least the good news about these new pricing is that it might cause Amazon to lower theirs a little more before Christmas.

So I guess it sold out and took the number 2 spot in video games although this was clearly a big marketing campaign aimed at people to make an impulse buy.
http://www.amazon.com/best-sellers-video-games/zgbs/videogames/ref=pd_dp_ts_vg_1

Amazon and Sony better hope the codes gets to people since they'd be way too many people complaining.

Next time Sony pulls off a stunt like that (Since they helped sponsored this Amazon deal) they should try offering a 16GB memory card with a bare bones unit. Perhaps do something like that several days before Christmas Eve.

Did you get anything else Vita-related with it, or just the bundle? I'm going to pick up a 32gb card once my credit card cools down a bit. I figure with the ps+ and 6 games, playstation all-stars and included AC Liberation game I'm good for quite a while. At some point I'll definitely pick up Persona 4 but no immediate rush.

Picked up a Vita with the too good to pass up Amazon deal. Jumped on the PSN to see what was available and was blown away by all of the free A+ title games. Really appreciating my PS+ membership right now.

Too bad this is supposed to be a Christmas gift from the wife and I won't get it until the end of the month. smile.gif

I'm actually contemplating selling off my PS allstars code, I didnt really have much interest in the game, though I am a 'casual' fan of the super smash series from Nintendo. Can anyone who has this game say if its worth keeping? Same with ACL, from what I heard the games storyline is a mess and all things considered I'd rather just buy the ps3 version( aided by the $10 coupon from amazon).

Assassin's Creed for the Vita is 100% its own game and storyline. There is no PS3 version. It's definitely worth keeping, warts and all.

No, just the bundle for me right now. I figure I can play a few games at a time on the 4 gigger until the mem card prices go on sale (even if it is after Christmas). I'm good at being patient for nice deals.

Despite having a bunch of games on day one, I have my eye on a few of the titles going on sale next week as listed above (I love me some Hot Shots Golf). I wish Lumines was one of the titles discounted though.
