There's an interesting tidbit in this interview:

http://www.gamereactor.eu/articles/81421/The+Mysterious+Mr.+Kojima/

Kojima is thinking about remaking the first Metal Gear Solid:
Quote:
Kojima explained that he was actually in the process of searching out a studio he could task with adapting the first game to the Fox Engine. He noted that some of the mechanics would need updating, but apparently he's keen on a second remake following Silicon Knights' Gamecube adapation Twin Snakes and HD releases of the original game.

You guys are going to be waiting for MGS V: The Phantom Pain for a loooooooooong time:
Quote:
Konami - still saying smaller Metal Gear coming this year (to be announced soon) while TPP title wont be until FY end Mar 2015

The good news is that a mini MGS title will release this year, according to the tweet. It's probably the Ground Zeroes prequel that has been mentioned.

it is expected from Konami to take about 10 years to make one game for each gen console but they still forget to include trophy support. tongue.gif

I guess this time, it really is the last MGS for Hideo Kojima. No Kojima-made Silent Hills either.

Quote:
A fallout between Kojima Productions and its owning publisher, Konami, has led to senior staff at the studio being restricted access to corporate internet, emails, and phone, GameSpot understands.

Along with the restricted communications, key developers at the studio, such as Hideo Kojima, will now have limited opportunities to lend their appearance to promotions of the studio’s upcoming game, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.

Power struggles between Kojima Productions and Konami have convinced the publisher to make drastic changes, including amending the employee status of its Metal Gear team. Some senior staff at the studio, including Kojima, now essentially work as contractors, not permanent employees.

The extraordinary measures were revealed by a source within Konami, speaking to GameSpot on the condition of anonymity. The person explained that, once the Phantom Pain project is finished, in all likelihood the management at the studio will disband.

"After we finish MGSV, Mr. Kojima and upper management will leave Konami. They said their contract ends in December," the source claimed.

The person added: "At a team meeting, Mr Kojima explained that team have to be one and make a good game for fans."

In other developments, Konami has begun removing the Kojima Productions logo from all official Metal Gear art, and it has removed Kojima from its executive team. Meanwhile, Kojima Productions’ branding has also been removed from Twitter, the official Metal Gear website, and even the LA office listing.

Representatives for Konami would not discuss specifics of the matter when contacted by GameSpot. The corporation has offered a statement, however.

It reads: "Konami Digital Entertainment, including Mr. Kojima, will continue to develop and support Metal Gear products. Please look forward to future announcements."

The corporation's public relations team, based in Tokyo, is unavailable at the time of going to press, due to it being past midnight local time.

Metal Gear Solid 5, Kojima’s latest iteration in the famed series, ships in September on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.

An expanded statement from Konami follows: "As we have already announced, we are shifting our production structure to a headquarters-controlled system, in order to establish a steadfast operating base capable of responding to the rapid market changes that surround our digital entertainment business. Konami Digital Entertainment (including Mr. Kojima), will continue to develop and support Metal Gear products. Please look forward to future announcements."

That's one way to kill a business. What does Konami even make besides MGS? I hope to god Kojima's team is actually working on finishing the game. If Konami has brought in a different team, this could result in a shoddy piece. Now the real question is who is trying to scoop him up??!!

Sigh. I was hoping it was another pr stunt from Hideo but I guess not. Hope this does not impact the game. But what about Silent Hills?!? I was totally looking forward to that.

Glad I didn't pay full price due to how short the game is, but I am loving Ground Zero. Not having a hard time beating the main story and the side ops but I am having a hell of a time going undetected/not having to kill people and beatinf the levels in reasonable times to get high marks.

Cant figure out if its because I havent played an MGS game in so long, if my patience isn't what it used to be, or if its the lack of hiding places and places to hide bodies, no camo, ugh. Lots of fun regardless and Im shocked there isnt more hype for Phantom Pain

I´ve being a huge fan of MGS. And I don´t know how it came to it, but somehow, I´m not that much interested in MGSV.
Maybe getting old, the whole over the top action feels simply non sense and over the top to me now these days.
Storywise and game, MGS3 is still my favorite.

Praying the cut scenes aren't as long as MGS4...
Don't get me wrong, I love kojima's storytelling but man MGS4's cut scenes were over the top in length.

for those who have 40mins to kill

From what I am seeing and hearing this isn't going to be anything like previous entries especially with the cut-scenes. Quite the game play departure.

I am definitely very intrigued. I never got the hang of all the CQC stuff in MGS4 or even finished it but the Ground Zeroes demo I bought plays a lot better than MGS4.

Pretty interesting to see the differences from the 2013 trailer. Coloring and maybe some other aspects look different.

The Phantom Pain looks awesome, but after watching the above videos, I'm wondering whether there is TOO much depth and detail for me to fully appreciate the game. I now understand why Kojima was concerned if players would be able to finish it.

In general, I have a tough time finishing open world games, but seeing as this is the last Kojima MGS, I want to give it a shot. But those $80 new release prices in Canada... might have to wait a bit.

It does look a little overwhelming. But after watching it a while, it looks to me like the option is there if you want it but isn't absolutely needed. If needed, it makes life easier. Im sure the hardcore players who want to get all the trophies will have the time for the upkeep, while some of us in the older crowd can still have fun without obsessing over our help and having the craziest weapons.

We just arent used to this depth in a MGS game. I remember being completely overwhelmed w fallout 3, but once you start playing things made sense and it became simple. I guess we will see
