Because E3 isn't targeted at you. The audience for E3 is Better Homes And Gardens and The Washington Post. E3 has nothing to do with selling games to the kind of person that comes to a message board to talk about games.

Agree, this game looks great, only saw the trailer they released but it is prominently on my radar. And Ubisoft was Far Cry 3 which I had an amazing time with.

I can't wait to see more of this game. I'm also curious of how open world it really ends up being.

Mmm, I wouldn't be so sure that's CGI. I'm doubt it's part of the game; it has too many cues to his abilities so it seems to be a show off video but still I don't know, it feels more in-game assets to me. I could be wrong, we'll find out later today. I seem to be somewhat obsessed with this game too and it's easily my most anticipated next-gen purchase.

During the Watch Dogs game play, at the PS4 E3 event, what was up with the online player, showing someone playing on what looked like an android tablet. Is there any description of what exactly was going on there?

Apparently you can "phone a friend" in the real world and have them help out with certain tasks from a mobile device (tablet, phone[?]). Seems a bit gimmicky but I need to see more to make a final judgement on it.

Had no idea Aisha Tyler is a gamer...very cool smile.gif

Game looks epic and should be a strong GOTY candidate.

The graphics look nice but framerate appears to be a little choppy. I guess they're targeting 30fps on consoles. Trying to decide whether to get it for PS4 or my PC. Leaning towards PC for better fps performance.

Looks like WatchDog is going for a Demons/Dark Souls sort of seamless MP/SP. This video just showed up on the internet this weekend:

Basically in your own instance you're the main character, and in the other player is a enemy controlled NCP that you have to complete the objective against. Or you might see the MP controlled NCP come after you.

This game looks tits

All this talk about Battlefield 4 (which don't get me wrong, I'm getting as well) but let's be honest...it's another military themed, multiplayer FPS. We've all been there and done that a hundred times over.

Watch Dogs sounds truly original and innovative.

Probably one of my most anticipated games.

"Watch Dogs on PS4: we visit Ubisoft in Paris to see the killer next-gen open-world game"

http://www.officialplaystationmagazine.co.uk/2013/07/11/watch-dogs-on-ps4-we-visit-ubisoft-in-paris-to-see-the-killer-next-gen-open-world-game/

Quote:
“The experience is magnified,” says creative director Jonathan Morin, when we ask him about the difference between the PS3 and PS4 versions of Aiden Pearce’s vigilant adventure. “There’s a lot of assimilation that we do that can’t be achieved on current-gen. It’s about making sure everything feels coherent in the dynamic of the atmosphere, something that takes a lot of juice. But it makes a huge difference in your impression of how everything correlates with each other together, like the entire wind system.” Ah yes, those gorgeous gusts.

Watching the weather systems in action, which are governed by the sort of advanced physics only PS4 could pull off, we’re reminded of that bit in American Beauty with the floating shopping bag… uh, without the existential mid-life crisis and leering over a starkers cheerleader covered in rose petals.

Watch Dogs is so much more than subtle next-gen graphical trickery, though. This is an open-world experience that combines shooting, surveillance, hacking, driving and Assassin’s Creed-inspired parkour into a thrillingly cohesive whole. It’s also a game that utilises a variety of sophisticated AI systems to forge an expansive environment that potentially feels more connected and emergent than even the best of Rockstar’s work. The GTA developer transformed Red Dead Redemption’s Old West into a coyote-attacking, stagecoach-saving, six shooter-duelling landscape that constantly felt alive thanks to random dynamic events. And Watch Dogs deploys similar strategies to make Pearce’s Chicago bristle with an immersive unpredictability.

“It’s really about building systems that can coexist to create unique moments,” Eric Baillargeon tells us. The AI and gameplay lead programmer has been suitably impressed by PS4 and stresses the console’s developer-friendly interface has helped bring Watch Dogs’ connected world to life. “The added resources of PS4 make our job easier in some aspects, like animation and sound. It’s when we thread the driving, shooting, combat and hacking systems together that the connection that makes the game so unique comes to the fore.”

Not sure how old this.Youtube says it was uploaded a month ago:

This easily is the most anticipated PS4 launch game.

Just don't know if I'll have time playing this and GTA V.

I'm sure I'll be pretty deep into GTA V even 2 months after this game comes out.

Have they said how much freedom you have to roam Chicago? Is the whole city open to you? It'd be cool to be able to go anywhere within the city limits you want.

Yeah that was what I was thinking. Looks more current-gen. Maybe they were using the 360 or PS3 for that trailer?

Even a mobile version should look better than that. That looks like a pre-vis, what they used to get the dialog and timing down before they applied the in game graphics. I can't watch the explain vid at work so I'll have to speculate the rest of the day smile.gif
