Coming soon to the PSN for $20 is Okami HD, an upgraded and polished re-release of one of last gen's most critically acclaimed titles. A translation of the Japanese announcement for the uniquely artistic action game says:
Quote:
According to the blog post, the game will have HD visuals, a 16x9 aspect ratio, and PlayStation Move support for making your Celestial Brush strokes. Trophy support (including a Platinum Trophy) will also be included.

Take a look at its beautiful style in this trailer (be sure to manually switch to HD in YouTube first). The second half shows examples of the PS3 vs. PS2 improvements.

Cool. Great for folks who haven't played it before. Too bad they couldn't have figured out a way to get a version of Okamiden included.

Now where's my God Hand 2?? LOL.

Looks great, and since I never managed to finish the original (had to set it aside and then forgot about it) and my BC PS3 died, I will be picking this one up.

I have to laugh, though, that's some serious cleavage! I never noticed that in the PS2 version! Must have been the blurry visuals...

Good idea (just did the same thing)... the Okami trailer looks fantastic on the Vita's OLED.

OMG, yes. Hopefully better control than the Wii version.

Capcom's Tristan Corbett posted this on the Playstation blog, June 20th, 2012
"No news on a Vita version at this point, but we’re hearing the requests loud and clear."

This would make a good Playstation Move bundle for Japan. Japan is already get a disc version.

Problem with that is it's pointless unless it has an English language option. Hopefully it's a viable option though. You can get by without a translation for something like a racing game (Typically at least, I can't make heads or tails of Sega Rally 2006's championship mode.... at least arcade mode was 100% English), classic compilations, 2D shooters, etc.

Guess I better finally play Okami. Have the PS2 original and the Wii release yet have never played it. Might as well pick one and play through it and see if I actually like the game before buying a 3rd version of it.

Wonder if this will address some of the problems I recall reading that the Wii version had. The paper filter look was gone, the end credits were stripped out (Not a big deal if you ask me, but I remember it had some fans in a uproar), and the motion implementation apparently was less than desirable. Have to think this is based off the Wii release since I think there was source code issues with the PS2 original.

Hopefully unlike Resident Evil 4's HD rerelease, this will be the definitive version of the game to play.

I hope there's a disk version so I can buy it used and make certain that Capcom doesn't make a profit on me.

Play Asia has preorders up for the Japanese disk copies. $79.90 plus shipping for the base game. There is also a limited edition for $170 + that I couldn't bring myself to look at.

Sad to say it, but I may have to wait for a price drop before I import this one...

Has an English language option been confirmed? $80 for a game that's all in Japanese that is very text heavy isn't something that would interest most people. So keep that in mind before you import. smile.gif

Is Capcom still requiring a connection to PSN for downloadable PS3 games (like Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 had)? If not, I think I'll just go for the download if I buy this sometime.

Yeah, it's overpriced. I paid $92 + shipping for my copy of Vesperia so this is way too much for just one game remade in HD.

(Vesperia is getting a "The Best" release for $50 soon if anyone was considering that)
