i think it will come out soon in the USa too.

it was released last week in Europe on PSN network.

imagine playing final Fantasy tactics in 1080p.

many times i asked myself, why does no game company release an oldschool RPG game or action rpg like zelda link to the past with updated 1080p graphics,

Rayman orgin was already a great example of this. and now after 6 years at last we get 1 game company who does this.

old school gameplay with 1080p graphics.

walking is free. fighting is turnbased . basicly it is a cross between final fantasy tactics and suikoden. if you love those games. you will love this.

the music is also oldschool synthesier music which sounds a lot like those soundtracks we had on the amiga and super nintendo.

really the trailers dont do this game justice how awesome it looks and play. also you can update you score and level progress on rainbow moon servers and share it with your friends to see how they are progressing. or if they have found some secrets you have not yet found.

the only weak point is the story so far. i dont care really much about it. on the other hand when i was playing games on my c64. i didnt had much story too. but lot of fun playing games, and that is what this is all about. old school gaming in 1080p graphics.

love it love love it.

Looks good - I really do love old-school turn-based RPG/Strategy games. Reminds me a bit of Shining Force for the Genesis.

edit: should be available on PSN for North American users tomorrow.

I heard about this last week and was immediately interested, but then I read that your party only consists of 3 people at a time. For having such a large selection of party members to choose from, it seems kinda cheap to be limited to only 3 of them at a time.

Speaking of the Shining Force series. You had like 10 party members on screen at a time against massive armies. I wish this was the same.

so far i have located 2 people that fight with me. puzzles are pretty cool too. now i am in a dungeon trying to locate something that a new characther needed. it is also very hard to stop playing this game. trying to level up. learn new spells. also what i like is that even if your for example level 12 you still have a possibility to beat a level 15 or level 16 charchter as long as you play your strategy well. so you dont need to grind to get up to their levels.

shinign force series i loved too. i remember playing the very first one which was basicly a corridor game. after the first it became the RPG-strategy game series it is so widely known for.

imagine playing a 1080p version of shining force 1,2,3 sega saturn( version 2 and 3 ) never came out in english language. SEGA make it happen!

I'm still on the fence about whether or not I'm going to buy this later on tonight. The whole only having 3 party members at a time still kinda turns me off and I think it will be very frustrating having to constantly put new members in just to get them all to level up.

If it allowed for a much bigger party (like Shining Force did) or if the other party members "on the bench" leveled up along with the active ones, it would be an insta-buy for me. Right now though, unless I hear there is something I'm missing in regards to party members and leveling up, I'm not 100% sold. And that sucks because this is the type of game I've been waiting for for a long time as well.

All the reviews I've read have been fairly positive - not perfect, but it seems to have a lot of good elements going for it , so I'm definitely going to pick it up. As for the 3 character main party limit, it all depends on the game mechanics in terms of how well it works. At the very least, it's not a big developer release where you have to shell out $50-$60 for.

Tom in regards to upgrading.

it is like this. you have experience points and you have pearls.

if a charchter kills an enemy he gets a pearl. when you go to shop you can exchange those pearls for upgrades.

experience give syou charcter more power, defence, luck etc. it also gives you an extra move on the board.

also you can chose to grind ala diablo or not too. choice is yours.

also you have revival potions, but also food. food is regular needed when your playing as well.

game is much more strategic in this regard then other games. although so far it is true i could only use 3 party members at the same time.

actually game reminds me a lot of fire emblem series on super nintendo too.

i am now level 16. will take a long time before my charcther hits 500 that is for sure.

hopefully more people buy this game and we can talk about it. wonder what other people think of it onc ethey play it. and how they do the side quests. or chose were to go first.

There was another game released back in January 2010 (Wow, I could have sworn this was just released) called Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment that looks very similar to this type of game.

I was going to get that when it first came out, but then the reviews were pretty negative and said it was very short. I'm just curious if anyone else played that game and if so how it stacks up to Rainbow Moon.

Oh, and I just read that in this game you will have access to 6 total characters to choose from. Nowhere near the amount we had with Shining Force. I wonder why they limit you to just 3 at a time.

I picked this up and have enjoyed it so far. I picked up a 2nd character last night and that has added a nice level. Looking forward to finding more.

For those that have it....how are MP points regenerated? Is it only with herbs, the healer and when leveling up or is there another way? Sleeping brings up health but not magic.....

Fun game and happy overall with the purchase at the ps+ price.

Well, since I have no self control, I went ahead and bought this as well. I'm not far into it as I started late last night, but so far it's kinda fun.

I gotta say though, I'm only playing on Normal difficulty and I'm already having problems. Those first imps were simple, but I'm having my butt kicked by those bees. They do way too much damage and I'm going through my healing potions like crazy. If I face more than two of them in any fight, I'm toast.

What effect does being hungry have on your guy? I keep seeing that go down, but I don't understand what it means if I'm at hungry status or if I'm full.

now level 30.

cant stop playing this game. so far so good. level 30 and not much problems.

about vandel hearts. flames of judgement. i played that 1. finnished it in 2 days and didnt look back to it. could have been so much more. it is a simple game with only 12 battles.

however rainbow moon has over +forever battles. since you can grind as well.

Rainbow moon is just awesome. it has all the basic mecanics in place. it could have been even better if a company like square enix or konami woul dhave been evolved for the story line.

but as far as gampleya gopes this is it. old school gameplay in 1080p graphics. and fast loading times. so much better that i dont need to wait like 1 minute before i can play a new part of skyrim once it has to load a dungeon.

in rainbow moon it is like 3 seconds and then continue. love it.

now i like to have a new suikoden, secret of mana, zelda, earthbound, vandel hearts, with these kind of graphics smile.gif

I have to say this game is very, VERY addictive. It was 1:30 am and I still didn't want to shut it off.

I gotta say though, I'm having a bit less fun now that Trisha joined the party. Because she started off 4 levels behind my Baldren (I was hoping like most of these games the person who joins you is automatically your level or one less) I am trying to prolong battles so she gets the kill and the bonus Rainbow Pearls. Because she's much weaker, I have to keep defending with Baldren just so I can get Trisha into place and it gets a little annoying at times.

Overall though, I am very happy I took the plunge and bought the game. Now I'm thinking that any more than 3 in your party at one time would really get frustrating as you try to get a kill with each one.

Bought this game yesterday after seeing this thread. Loving it. I've never played a classical RPG...I've only played Action RPGs. Can't believe what I've been missing.

My advice, don't really worry about it. The extra members will catch up over time and, if they aren't a quick jog back to the beginning can get them more pearls than they need really fast.

I thought it was a pain at first too because Trisha was so far behind. But keep chopping away, advancing levels is a faster way to improve stats than using pearls. Keep using her ranged skills, those improve with use too. Eventually she will start getting kills.

I have gotten level 18 with Baldren and Trisha is there too.

level 50 now.

all i can say the game is much bigger then you think it is. also when you have that small ship you sail with. you cant yet pass the dark blue waters. well there will be a part in the game when you can travel to it.

also 1 time i managed ot get to a part of the world wer ethe monsters are level 150.

best game availble for 15 dollars in my opinion. already clocked 50 hours. so that means the game cost me around 17 cents an hour. because of this game i completely forgot about skyrim.

biggest reason is loading times. i love the loading times of this game. 2 till 3 seconds and you can game again.

I'm gonna be back to Level 1 after my old PS3 crapped the bed recently and I haven't done a backup in quite some time. rolleyes.gif

Oh well, guess now that I know how the game works, I'll try some things differently the next time I start.

I'm only at level 22 right now but I was in an unmarked dungeon that was all around level 18ish, and one enemy in an area I couldn't access at 999.

I have a question about these DLC artifact sets.

Are you able to find all these artifacts that they are selling as DLC on your own or can you only get them by purchasing the DLC? I hate to shell out money on stuff that you will eventually come across on your own, but if that's not the case I hate not having access to them at all.
