I'm wondering how the speaker on the controller works, mainly is the chat line always open, or do you have settings. In the little commercial, they show the kids fat friend telling him he needs help, and then the hipster plugs in his headset and they chat. I am hoping that you can set it so that people don't just start talking to you unless you are in a chat.

Some people would rather not pay with a credit card, but only had that as an option when pre-ordering. This was a message to let them know how they can easily switch it up to paying cash if they wish (all at once, or in gift card installments).

You're right, it could also be water weight. Or he could have big puffy bones, even in his fat stomach, since that is another excuse people use all the time.

Ok. After Uncharted 3 I'm going to play KZ 2&3. Was just wondering if the MP was worth a damn.

Maybe this has been answered, but will the pulse edition gaming headset be compatible with the ps4? I've been wanting one but don't want to drop $150 on something that won't work on my new system.

KZ2 was awesome. Dedicated servers, clan match support, server browser and ranked private matches. Warzone was a teamplay game type that dynamically switched between 5 team game types in one match, which really gave a game a flow. But the controls had some weight to them and people who were into COD’s laser guns and instant, robot lock-on and movement hated on it. Took some getting used to, but it was nice not iceskating all over a map and feeling like your guy was loaded to the max in military gear, instead of COD The Flash.

KZ3 was a mess after they tried to chase COD and ended up doing niether well. The only plus was the change of spawn grenade class to a spawn capture class, that effectivly added another conquest sort of mini-game type for people running as that class.

KZ2 had massive built in input lag, it wasn't a weight issue but a poor coding. The patch helped but it was still a mess.

Interesting. They almost went with a 1TB bandwith solution for the PS4 with the GDDR5 RAM + eDRAM, but went with something more streamlined and simple to use (less expensive most likely a well).

Wow PS3 was filled with mistakes left and right lol, their new approach about being more open, admitting what they've done wrong and truly work on fixing each on of those issues is really Amazing. Mark's sure passionate about gaming, watched the whole thing without feeling the time pass so quickly.

Man, they Hubris really was strong with Sony in 03-05. It's also very apparent how humbled they were and how they've come to a corporate 180 with Cerny holding the torch this next Gen. We also know why SSM and Naughty Dog are the current and still champs of the hardware, because at the start they actually believed that third parties would be forced to catch up or drown, and that it wouldn't matter. It does matter.

How he describes Sony Japan before the PS3 is how I Redmond was in the run up to the XBone. Pure hubris and the corporate bubble.

Good to know they realized that and have their ducks in a row finally.

That was a great watch, made everyone else in the room yawn though. Don't care, it was full of great info and I feel like I learned a lot about how Sony was run during the PS3 era and how they have changed their stance.

Lots of Specs too (even if a repeat by now). You can tell Sony is pretty proud of finding a good solution of current architecture, but modified to suit their and developers needs.

MS is dead set against releasing any info on theirs. Just believe in the cloud! We know whats best anyways...

Well, they made their intentions pretty clear. Whats to stop them from bringing it back one they've sold 20 million consoles. We KNOW their attitude was "Where do they think they'll go, they'll just adapt". I'd hope they've learned the lesson, but they did burn some bridges and people are still very uneasy that they even went there. Kinetic is still a major point (both price and for god sakes just let us turn it off!). We still don't know the official Specs, and I'm guessing they're going to pull a Nintendo and well need a teardown and APU image sheet to figure it out for sure unless a third party leaks it. They're also still heavily speaking in marketing speak and PR BS, not giving straight answers.

Hell, they just dropped their ridiculous certification fees and we only know so through 3rd partys. Why wouldn't you announce that?

This is not about being horrible, it is about misreading the market and where it is going. MS now has a console that was created with a vision that they found to not be viable in todays marketplace. The console was built for this vision and now needs to be made to live up to an altered vision. Whatever it turns into, it probably could have been better if they had built it to the vision MS is now heading toward. I like to see strong competition in the marketplace because it drives everyone to be better. Unfortunately, I think MS should have known how they would be received by the marketplace long ago. It only needs some focus testing and discussion outside the halls of CHQ.

MS is a bunch of people and Sony is a bunch of people. I neither like nor dislike either but I respond to their actions. Companies change as their leadership and priorities change.

I just don't think you can compare them straight up with Sony at the ps3 launch. Sony stuck with their plan and it hurt them this generation. MS saw they were wrong and changed their plans, so good for them and good for gamers.

Sounds like Sega and the Saturn. They built a super 2D machine (took the current consoles to actually top it at 2D) and quickly retooled it after seeing the PS1 and it turned into a disaster. The Xbox One mirrors this in many ways...

Their plan wasn't just DRM. There's a MS executive on record stating "We didn't target the best graphics (gameplay?) because we're moving into all this media/app stuff" among other stuff. It eerily sounds like Sonys push to be the "center of the living room" with the PS3. I could go down the list, but we've already had that discussion several times on both threads. It amazes me to no end how MS saw everything Sony got wrong, and decided they could do it but make it work.

Sony did get real. They started directly shipping tools to, while repairing their relationships with 3rd party publishers/dev's. They invested heavily in their crap network. Judging by the exclusives over the last few years they stepped up production of them to better support the system later in life when the price would fall and adoption would be high. Honestly, coming in second behind Nintendo this generation, I'd say while they did fumble early, they picked it up and played a good game in the end. More importantly, listen to that video; they learned from their mistakes, especially the ones they got stuck with for the full generation. They're not eager to make them again.

MS will do the same, as long as they've been humbled in Redmond. Judging by their history as a whole, that questionable under Balmer.

Correction: Microsoft saw the low pre-orders and got scared so they did the 180, if they truly believed in their vision, they would have went through it.

We're not going to pretend like nothing happened with that 180, they'll have to earn everyone's trust through time, even diehard Microsoft fans have a bad taste in their mouth that won't immediately go away.

I think they can be compared with Sony up until prelaunch. From there, they are taking a better path. It is good for gamers but it is too bad they got full of themselves to begin with.
