Yes, you can queue up games from your phone/PC to dload with PS+, but not for pre-order titles which was what he asked about.

Quick question. I'm not a heavy gamer but do want one of these systems. Which one, if either, will have games running at 1080p? I have a 4k tv and want the system foe which games will look the best. Thanks in advance. I've asked on the Xbox side too. I'm not "loyal" to either company just want the best looking stuff.

If you have plus and auto-download/install set, you can do that from the SEN store on the web and it will download it the next update time. It won't start it remotely though.

PS it should do it immediately from the app. Hopefully they're smart and it'll even send back progress updates!

We should know more tonight with BF4 embargo ending at midnight.

So far PS4 has the larger number of 1080P titles confirmed, both 1st part and 3rd party.

Looking the best? Well that's a bit more subjective. 3rd party games (on all consoles) will always have the least differences, although things are pointing to the PS4 being a slightly more capable system.

1st party; I'm willing to bet Sony wins out yet again in the IQ/resolution front. Check out some of the games listed in the forum that have links to uncompressed videos at http://www.gamersyde.com/index_en.html that you can put up on your TV, and judge for yourself.

Could be an option for BF4 if it isnt ready for download when I go to work.

It'll be best to keep checking some sites if people still want to pre-order since it seams like every time Sony has new confirmed stock, they'll keep giving new allotments to some places although not everything since they claim they want to have some on the self.

quick question, so when the PS4 comes out and i want to "upload" my same gamertag from my PS3, do i need to remember my password or anything like that? because i can't remember if i even had to create a password, etc.. and basically don't want to get my PS4, and can't play BF4 immediately!!

I go through the SEN network and reset it as long as your email is the same...

You will need a password to authenticate the system and long in.

I actuially like the XB version... smile.gif The PS4 version looks like the contrast is pushed too high and is washing things out. Don't know if that is real or how it was captured

the ign version isn't as bright

here is the PS4 vs PC (at 1080p ultra settings) and the PS4 looks better. It looks like the higher the Resolution the dirtier the image becomes so go figure

Contrast is a setting on your display. You can really see that the Xbox One version is rendered at a lower resolution in the aliasing.

I sounds like it will work wired to a PS3. SO you could use and start getting used to it.

DF admitted to making a capture mistake. The PS4 version is washed out I'm assuming. Guessing it's an RGB range issue.

Eurogamer admits that they thought there was an issue at first but it looks like the MS console is the reason for the wash. Instead of adjusting the brightness to each platform they used a uniform brightness level of 30.

The XB1 being darker actually was an advantage in the comparison which shouldn't have been there. This is why in some of the scenes peoples faces are too dark .

It is also suspected that the sharpness levells internally are turned way up. which may account for the crisp look

Microsoft's new platform seems to enforce a colour push towards the lower end, leaving us with more saturated colours and deeper blacks. It's just cause to head towards Battlefield 4's brightness settings, but in the interest of a fair test we kept this at the default 30 per cent for all platforms.

The other comparison videos (IGN, ect) do not have the difference (or at least not to the same degree) that the DF videos do.

For me, with all of the concerns around capture, internet compression, RGB scales, various laptop/desktop monitors, the verbal text descriptions are worth more. In those, all that I've read from every outlet indicates that the PS4 is clearly superior. Not just subtle or barely, but clearly.

Well you're going to have to set your HDTV to torch mode, because it looks like that due to a capture issues from DF.

Where else, at the Neogif. From DF:

Why so different? DF uses their own hardware for capturing while DICE were handing out Elgato boxes to everyone else. The DF hardware is actually much more capable but it works differently and, without the experience of working with these new consoles, I can see a situation where settings were dialed in wrong.

JackFrags used what DICE provided and probably didn't even attempt to change any settings which, in this case, turned out to be for the best."

It's because DICE provided the capture equipment and DF must have ticked something off that they though did one thing, but did something else.

You can't negate ~55% increase of pixels render, there's no way around it. The surprising thing is the PS4 still ends up ahead in the FPS department, even with the increased resolution AND better AA.

I'm a bit disappointed it didn't hit 1080P , but I guess we need to check our expectations with these launch games. We're a long way from PS3 launch games though!

I thought I'd purchase my Dad a PS4 for Christmas. Already pre-ordered. Is it worth the extra money over the PS3 (brand new), which I can get cheaper? He's not a gamer at all. Just watches videos and movies.

In other words, as a non-gaming device, is it worth it over the PS3?

Why not just buy a nice BD player? It will come with a real remote and smaller form factor.

Indeed, seems like a waste of money especially considering you can get standalone BD players that are as fast or faster than the PS3 and offer all the same extras (Hulu, Netflix, etc.) plus like you said come with an actual remote.

Right, The additional detail was evident, more smoke, better frame rate , but because they didn't adjust the brightness on each device some of the comparisons get a bit hard and you got an overall bland look.
On the comparisons where brightness was adjusted the ps4 did improve but still looked soft .

Regardless of how much extra power the PS4 has and how much was more rendered, the XB1 version was still looked more pleasing to the eye.

He likes storing his video files on the PS3 HD. Plus the PS3 can play all his formats. Is there a BD Player that can match that?
