Yup, the NAND is 8 and the DRAM cache is 64MB. Sorry, should have spelled that out but I figured those interested would follow the link wink.gif

How has yours performed in the PS3 tgable? Any reliability issues?

For the 3D people, Trine 2 Complete is coming to the PS4 at 1080p 60fps and will support 3D, this news broke right before CoD's resolution, so it got lost in the shuffle.

Same one I've been looking at.

I believe I saw a youtube of this drive with TLOU, and it was impressive the difference in a game like TLOU with it's mega front end load from the disc + hdd downloaded cache. Almost a full min difference.

Curious how it will compared on the 3 consoles. So far the PS4 is off to a fantastic trend with two of the most popular FPS's biggrin.gif

Was that the one I posted? Even with a stock drive the digital version loaded over a minute faster. (These were all digital vs physical comparisons)

Also heard the US blog post was taken down atm, but can't check from work. Hopefully this is true. Shu cracked the whip!

Maybe that was the one. Memory is a little hazy on 3 hrs sleep, couldn't sleep after the win last night and a cold.

Yeah I did click the link but skimmed it...weird that it put the 64mb cache in the title but not the 8Gb...but that's definitely the drive to get.

I agree with most of that, I'm just not so sure that the x1 and ps4 video processing is identical. The x1 is known to have some extra functionality with the three layer compositing, etc. It's believable they they also have some space there dedicated to image processing over and above the scaler itself (which is prob identical.)

But yeah, I laughed when I saw DF mention the software scaling, I knew that was nonsense....I hadn't realized anyone took that seriously.

I am picking up a Vita tomorrow. , My DS4 controller is comes in today but I won't be home for another 2 weeks ... I'll check the remote play capabilities then...

The PS4 does have the remote help feature on PS4 where you can take over a friends PS4, I am assuming it is the same type of compression/ second screen that the Vita is doing so I found it odd that they were "Not recommending it" especially after that Japanese add that did showing remote play . then again perhaps thats why the help feature is delayed.

There will always be something faster and better on the horizon, but IIRC these drives are fairly recent, maybe 6 months old. Might be a while before there's something new.

Typical Amazon fashion, the title is very misleading :/

This one fits my requirements just fine...If I were building a new gaming PC, I wouldn't even bother waiting for a better hybrid, I'd be SSD all the way like the one I built for BF3. For now this one fits my PS4 needs just fine. I'll wait for others to experiment with pure SSD then decide if I want to upgrade in a year or two if at all (depending on the delta performance gain on PS4 by doing so).

Yeah, hybrid is a little pointless on PC. I personally have the best of both worlds going where I've got a 256GB SSD, but I've cordoned off a 32GB chunk to use as cache for my 1TB HDD for "other games".

So it is free with PS+? awesome. I had the original and played until I killed the giant red dragon that had a billion health. Fun game but I hate how some bosses take 15+ minutes to beat. The item/inventory system is pretty crappy but I hear Dark Arisen has made quite a few improvements in that area.

Powered by The Cloud as well biggrin.gif I wonder if my old character from the original will find his way back to me in Dark Arisen. He has been in the cloud for a long time.

Wow, I am so bummed. I was on board the PS4 train until I read you can't play CD's, Mp3's, and no DLNA??? I use Plex with my PS3 at least three times a week to stream movies. I will be sitting out buying a PS4 until they fix obvious features PS3 already has.

You never beat it!? For shame, Grigori is not the final boss. wink.gif Bosses go down quick if you play as intended, every one has a weak point that can be exploited for much increased damage. (Even Grigori, though he remains a challenge even with end game stuff) class selection also matters, sword only classes suck for dealing with most bosses.

Those who played the original get lots of bonus stuff, like an eternal ferrystone for fast travel. (Which was also greatly improved)

To their credit I think there's a very good chance they'll implement it in the future.

https://twitter.com/yosp/status/395844205215363072

@yosp: Had a very good discussion w the PS4 Dev team today. We're happy & appreciative to learn so many people use and like PS3's media features.

I'd rather they work on other priorities first, since there's a dozen other ways to get that stuff playing on your TV. It's lame that they made sure their services were up and running day one, but as long as they make good on it sooner than later I'm satisfied.

I'm pretty impressed with the responsiveness to customer criticism on both sides....last gen there was nothing like twitter that could get a message across so directly and instantly.

Yeah, I stopped a little after that. It had me traveling the same roads but with some new enemies finally. My main complaints were lack of enemy variety, lack of a world to explore (it felt pretty small) and travelling to only a few locations. Well I clearly missed some secrets on how to kill enemies fast. Sure there were was to kill many things with ranged attack slowly as well.

I did enjoy the game for what I played but it felt like it could have used quite a bit more polish. Dark Arisen might be that answer.

edit: every time I post it makes a double post, no idea why..

yeah, but I've heard that over and over the last 12-24 months. How long do we have to wait?

I'm already waiting for the Nexus 5 that was supposed to be released 10 times over by now.

Same here, especially the no BS tone. We hear you, and I went directly to the team to discuss options.

Thats pretty refreshing when so much of the time, with so many others, it's all just deflect, BS, or talk down to their customer. They didn't comeback trying to BS how much value they are giving, or point to their competitions failures.

They might not be able to fix the issues, but they acknowledged it and let their customers know that they're now discussing it.

I really doubt they will change anything, because Sony needs buy-in on their services to make money.

I notice companies do that a lot these days, figuring that people will just deal with it. They're right usually.

The thing that annoys me about these services is that I can't use them on different platforms. Sure I can load up iTunes on my PC but it's not as integrated into the experience as Xbox Music. And Xbox Music won't be usable on PS4 and MU won't be usable on Xbox One.
