I've still been using a Sanyo Z5 on a 100" screen for current gen gaming. BRs also look suprisingly good, it accepts a 1080p input but displays @ 720p.

I'll make the jump to a 1080p projector in the next year or so when I get a second PS4 for the home theatre...in the meantime the PS4 is going to stay hooked up to my Panny 55GT30 plasma.

Just make sure you look at input lag, I saw a previous poster say he was on JVC, those can have around 80ms of input lag, not fun if you play FPS or other quick input games.

I'm sticking to DLP for that reason, less lag overall. All the models I have been looking at have under 32ms of lag.

My current Sharp has over 60ms in game mode, which sucks for gaming.

I hear you and will have the same issue next week when I get 3 games at Target for the B2G1 sale. I too have BF4 on the 360 holding me over until the PS4 drops. Lets just hope that Sony is on top of PSN and DICE fixes the issues plaguing BF4 at the moment.

That is a fantastic price for a 2TB laptop drive. I'll probably pick one up sometime next year if the SSD wars haven't begun yet.

That 2tb drive is mighty tempting. I might wait a year or two and look again to see if the price drops below $99....

It will hit that very quickly with a starting price of $129. The 1TB SSHD started at $149 and is now around $100, so expect it to drop fast.

Ha ha! The hobby toy bit cracked me up. The other day my wife was chatting with 2 of her girlfriends and was complaining that her "husband" still plays with toys. The other ladies laughed and said so do their husbands and told her it won't stop. One of their husbands is 47 and getting a PS4 too!

That picture of the warehouse deliveries is pretty cool, but even if I could pick it up early, would I be able to play? With having to register the system and the day one download, it probably wouldn't be a great experience. Sort of glad it doesn't drop until next week, as Bama has a big game with LSU this weekend and I won't be home anyway. smile.gif

OK, here is a best guess effort at install sizes. Take these with a huge grain of salt. Could only find PC requirements for the f2p stuff and this isn't comprehensive so add or adjust as needed. I also need to work...oops...so I hit up my most wanted and left the rest.

BF4 34.9 GB
Blacklight 8 GB per PC
DCUO 30 GB per PC
KZ 37 GB
COD 49 GB
War Thunder 8 GB per PC
Warframe 1 GB per PC
AC4
Knack

I'm sitting here with a 130" screen, bursting to hook up a PS4,

Unfortunately release date here is an extra 2 weeks (29 Nov), and our pool is due to be completed then also.

I don't know which I'm more excited for?

Young 35 year old gamer checking in!

It's going to be weird not standing in line at midnight for the PS4, it was always an interesting evening when I did it in the past. I took the easy way this time and will let Amazon deliver it to me at work. That's right, at work! 2 reasons; 1 - so I don't have to wait until I get home to grab the box and get a good whiff of that new electronics smell and 2 - so my wife can't hide it. I plan to have a relaxing evening watching the launch event thing on SpikeTV and refreshing this board.

Well I guess I'm one of the young ins too at 29 haha. I haven't posted here or in the Xbox forum but I've been following both forums and read every post. I also followed the two prior forums before the reveals. I don't have either of them preordered but I plan on getting both at some point. Most likely the PS4 first and then the Xbox One sometime later. I was late to the party as far as this gen goes I suppose. I got a PS3 in 2009 and got a 360 super cheap off my buddy in 2011. Then got into real home theater and joined this awesome forum. I'd say I probably played the 360 and PS3 pretty much the same amount of time. I used the PS3 much more for Blu-Ray and other media. Unfortunately I no longer have either of them so I'm missing out on The Last of Us, Grand Theft Auto 5 among a few others. I didn't pre-order either of them as I have much more important things to worry about at the moment but as I said I'm definitely will be getting both or at least a PS4 at some point. That doesn't mean I won't keep my self well informed and I look forward to everyones impressions. I will have a sweet home theater set up and gaming machines once again soon enough. The pictures of the PS4's at warehouses has me excited lol.

I'm also into my early 40s. Back in my day, this is how we learned about new video games:
