Yeah, he does say that it is the "current" cap for Vita Remote Play, but it is still bad news right now.

Pretty much what I thought. Got to figure 60fps is double the data sent, and probably hard to offer a lag free experience for anything not connected directly.

There's a reason most internet services are still streaming 30fps, and they only need to deliver the packets.

Maybe PS4 is worse, but I think once ArsTechnica and DF do their in depth, we're going to see dropped frames on both. My other thought is SLI is apparently causing studdering, which isn't really frames dropped per say but the engine hiccuping. I'm wondering if that issues is popping up on the PS4 as well.

It's about time! I had made a European Apple ID about 8 months ago to download the PSN app on iOS. Which is annoying because everytime I sync/backup my iDevices it never finishes without me clicking some buttons to ignore wrong apple ID blah blah.

Nvidia cards record 1080p/60 at 60mbps, which the vita wifi can't even handle. At 720p you'd be expecting more like 30mbps for good quality, and even that is going to demand a damn near perfect connection. Unfortunately the vita wifi supports only a single stream of wireless N, which is theoretically 65mbps IIRC under perfect conditions....and if there's any one device that never seems to maintain a solid connection to my router, it's the vita.

I'm going to assume this also means the game DVR is also capped at 30fps, prob 720p.

Reading the manual and excited about being able to go back to the home screen without quitting current game or app, so overdue. Liking what I am seeing about the streaming apps. Nice it is including chat view direct on screen.
