I think when I get mine i will put it on top of the lap top cooler that my PS3 currently sits on. should be able to keep it cooler. Don't want to take any chances.

The console does get warm after hours of gaming and the right side, near the rear is warm to the touch. No where near as hot as a laptop can get. Cooling does seem to be pretty solid, however I understand the fear that it might just go up in smoke. Tempting to buy a second one as a backup unit, lol.

I know from my PS3 it seems to keep it about 10 degrees cooler(totally unscientific and using my hand to judge) I will also be burning it in as I do all my Electronics. Plan to keep it on for at least 48 hrs.

If you quit the app first (by hitting Options while the game is highlighted and selecting close app), you shouldn't have any problem ejecting the disc from the button on the console.

so far, really pissed off. Can't logon to psn. Can't change passwords, on console or pc. I can login with ps3. Doesn't make sense. I keep waiting for email from the change password webpage, never gets here. 2 days, 2 ps4's, still not online or doing anything. Not a good launch for me.

PS3 launch units were easily twice as hot under normal use after a few hours. To me this thing seems to feel cooler to the touch than my slim, which is pretty cool.

I've seen a few people reporting it pretty hot or having the fan sounding like a jet engine. To them I'd recommend swapping it out as soon as the place you got it from has more stock.. just in case.

Sucks you're having issues. I'm surprised I haven't run into many network problems. I still have trouble accessing the store though. I've got $22 in my wallet, Sony! Let me spend it!

I know the PS4 doesn't support analog out Audio connections. Are there any solutions for this aside from upgrading my receiver?

This thing is really loud. That fan is annoying me already. Gonna switch from KZ to BF and see if it's just the game.

If it hasn't been mentioned already, Fifa 14 has a demo (along with Trine 2).

I'm downloading it now.

Was this real time footage from the PS4 and its camera at 5 different homes and is it displayed like that on each players screen?
My friends would have a field day with this...I can just imagine my wife chewing me out it the back ground while everyone's hush hush soaking it in and then the laughter as she leaves...

No regrets

I played Killzone for about 2 hours last night and never heard the fan come one. Didn't touch the console so can't comment on how hot it was.

My Battlefield 4 has been going crazy. My files somehow got corrupted, so I lost my campaign progress. Sort of sucks, but not a big deal, as I'll play through again to get back to where I was.

My big issue is that I can't connect in multiplayer. I can get in, but all the servers show as empty, which is weird.

Anyone else having issues with BF4?

It's weird how some people are reporting noisy units. Mine has been pretty quiet, I can hear it up close but from the couch I barely hear anything. It is no where near as loud as my 360 was.

Sorry for those having issues. Yes mine is whisper quiet too. I have the Seagate SSHD in it, just in case that makes a difference.

I spent most of last night downloading my games. I don't think I've figured out how to control the downloading, prioritizing MP etc. I added all my games in the order I wanted them downloaded, but they didn't. And when BF4 and KZ were "done" loading, they both had massive updates to download before I could play MP. I went to be at 4am last night only having played Resogun. Will be getting on some KZ and BF4 MP later tonight though. It's gonna be a long, fun night : )

So far, I love the PS4 though. I didn't really think Resogun was special for the first 5 minutes, but then I started to power up and the game got all crazy and I got hooked and played that for a couple of hours. Pretty sweet for a free game. I played a few hours of the BF4 campaign, not sure how far I am but it was OK. I don't know I don't really love BF SP mode. Can't wait for MP!

Also haven't had any PSN issues since early last night.

I got it working great with my Turtle beach PX5's. Not sure whether to use PCM, Dolby or DTS though. Any thoughts? I have it on Dolby right now and it sound great!

That said the 900P instead of 1080P is noticeable to these eyes on my 70", but once you're in the thick of a battle you stop thinking about the very slight blur from being upscaled. Killzone seems to be everything I wanted from a FPS, but there's some weird audio choices vs past games, and the HUD/Text is a bit too small for the 1080P generation IMO. Really clean IQ, just hard to read objectives / accolades, ect.

Amen! good thing you mentioned this, I thought it was time for me to go to the eye doctor! Very hard to see the objectives and even the red cursor that shows you where you need to go. Kind of confusing at times.

Hearing the issue people are having makes feel a bit relieved that i chose to wait to get one. Nothing worse than having a new console and not being able to play your favorite game online after much anticipation.

It is pretty quiet other than an initial spinup of a disc.

That sucks online for BF4 is still glitchy, I guess it will continue playing the campaign mode, unless MP gets fixed tonight.

I have 4 dedicated bluray players, and given the power draw when playing them on PS4, I doubt I will ever use it as a player.
