Is Best Buy holding stock until Sunday again? This is the 2nd store I heard them say about having some on Sunday because of some sale or deal they have going on?

I've heard it's because the new flyers come out on Sunday and they need to have some in stock?

If nothing else, you would at least have an account that could then access the PS Store for another region which can come in handy on certain occasions. smile.gif

Here is a link of instructions for doing the same on a PS3, I would imagine it should be similar for the PS4.

Cool thanks. I'll give that a try.

Where you have problems is with the smaller studios (if you want to call them that) like say Studiocanal who region lock all of their BD's.

The only real way around region coding is to fork out about $600 to get an Oppo with the region free chip in it or go the cheap route like I did and get yourself one of these and change the region coding to B to play all of your European BD's.

Here are the instructions to change the region coding.

Do note though the IR sensor on these cheap BD players is a little finicky, but I have moderate success using an IR blaster for my Harmony 900 and doing it that way.

Then again, if what icelt says is true about setting up another account on the PS4 and it changing the region coding to B for European movies that would be awesome sauce.

I've been considering the Oppo for other reasons...maybe next Christmas!

Stuck up, half witted, scruffy looking, nerf herder.

Sounds good, if you don't mind chiming back in on your results of what icelt posted I would appreciate it. I would love to be able to make my PS3 or PS4 play region B discs so I can rid of my cheap Seiki player and save me from getting an Oppo.

You can play most of the PS1 games found on PSN via the VITA.

Early is always your safest bet. Hard to say how many people are still looking for some now that xmas has past. If they open at 7am, I'd personally aim to be there around 6am, assess the line if any then wait. Keep an eye on other retail/online stores too, maybe go check your local Target/Wal-mart, etc.

Hmm.. should I try NY with 2 Best Buy's about 2 miles from each other or a store in CT where only one store in about a 26 mile radius? Sales tax in NY is a bit higher.

That is a tough one. Not sure how bad the tax is, but I'd go for the two stores and maybe hit them up around 5:30-5:45 to see which has the shortest line. Last few weekends people have reported back of stores having anywhere from 10-40 units, so the closer to the door the safer you'll likely be.

jesus it's like finding a needle in a haystack.. OK here is what I have so far.. I called the two stores, One says NO the other says YES we will open doors at 7 AM and will will have the bundle and console only for sale.. SO at least I know what I can narrow down..

Now one more check of the CT store.. the rest it's too iffy too much driving 30+ miles one way.

Well can't check that CT store.. I think the phone system might be jacked up.. it said 4 or more people are ahead of you.. so I waited on the phone for just about an hour then I just hung up.. kept asking if I wanted to be transferred to another store for help.

Each time I call back still the same..

I feel if you keep checking online stores you'll eventually get one in a couple of days, maybe this would help for tracking one down:

I got there at 7 when I went and was 23rd in line. They start handing out tickets that reserves you a console at that moment and you have 3 hours to purchase the item, but the process was slow and didn't get out of there till about 8:30. On the plus side, they said they had a lot of consoles available, but a lot of people showed up.

And if you have more than one bestbuy in your area, call now to verify that they received or receiving a shipment. I had two in my area and only one of them received a shipment

Put in a 1TB HDD today. Apparently there are two Sony firmware links, one with a 307.9MB update and one with an 800+MB update. I spent a good 30 minutes trying to get the 307MB file to work and found out online that it doesn't. Just a heads up for anybody doing the update.

For some reason it wouldn't let me download it directly from the internet to the PS4 direct.

I wasn't careful and lost saves. My saves only uploaded to the cloud on the 26th, not try why it didn't this morning or last night at the minimum.

Well, I'm excited and relieved to have adventure with Sony customer service over, they have finally reinstated my account!

[sarcasm] It was nice of them to not inform me of this in any way, just had to try and sign in to see if it was still suspended or not. [/sarcasm]

Anyway, I'm just glad to be able to use all the PS4 and PSN features again. I'll never add funds to my wallet via Paypal or a CC again, pre-paid cards from this point forward.

I've only used PayPal once and was credited instantly, but my friend had a similar thing happen to him. Even though he was charged, it took Sony 2-3 days to add money to his account. After hearing about that, I'd never use PayPal to add funds to my wallet again. It's prepaid cards and Amazon codes from here on out, although Amazon codes are having issues right now apparently with tons of folks getting a "already redeemed" message when they enter their code. Makes me wonder if it's on Amazon or Sony's end, but Amazon is pretty quick about getting you a new code.

I went ahead and paid what they were asking for, it was the cheapest and quickest way to resolve everything. Very time I called and talked to someone they were pretty firm that I had to pay to get my account back or just create a new account. Creating a new account would have essentially cost me over $200 since I had purchased 2 years of Plus and 3 games from the PSN Store so, sending Sony $50 was the easiest way to go.

That's interesting. Quite a few of the games I looked at just last week had PS3, PSP and VITA tagged as compatible systems. Heck, even quite a few PSP games have been converted (Persona 2: Innocent Sin!) to play on VITA. Which games are you looking at that aren't compatible? (I'm thinking of D/L'ing FF8)

No, if you sign up, it will let you know your local bestbuy is receiving a shipment the next day and the time they will open. I never bothered to call or look for one until the day I received the txt, called my local bestbuy to verify and sure enough, they said yes and went the next day. Since thanksgiving, my best buy has only had two shipments since i received two txts, but they were huge shipments.

For some reason it wouldn't let me download it directly from the internet to the PS4 direct.

I wasn't careful and lost saves. My saves only uploaded to the cloud on the 26th, not try why it didn't this morning or last night at the minimum.

How can you check to see where the saves are? I thought with PS+ the saves automatically went to the cloud?

On another note, I purchased the extended warranty yesterday. I was going to do the regular 3 year one for $49.99, but then I figured for only $10 more I could get the accidental protection one. I don't really expect any issues but I figure you never know. Like maybe some HDMi issue where the pins get bent and the regular warranty wouldn't cover it. For $59.99 for three years is still a good deal. I just wish the extended warranty also covered accessories like the MS extended warranty does.
