I think it's mostly a generational thing because the younger generation actually still has time for this stuff. Adult responsibilities cut into your gaming time so much that I'd never consider watching someone else play instead of playing myself.

At this point I get like 4-5 guilt free hours of gaming a week. The rest is purchased on credit via sleep deprivation and guilt trips, and I'm starting to seriously overdraw my account lol.

Yes, whenever a really good game hits, I basically just sleep far less than I should.

Well, I wasn't quite expecting a whole discussion on narcissism and social media... LOL.

Posting on social networks are one thing. I use Facebook to keep in touch with my relatives and old college buddies.

I was more talking about sharing video game clips. If I sent one of my friends a video of me playing, say, Mass Effect. His response would first be "What the f**k am I supposed to do with this?"

I think it's pretty rad that you can share little clips of something cool that just happened in a game. Even I'll manage to watch those every now and then. But it'll be a cold day in hell before I watch some YouTube celebrity or even a friend just play a game when I could be playing myself.

Yeah. It'd be really cool if that feature worked on the PS4, but 85% of the time it doesn't record the right clip (while playing BF4).

As an adult with responsibilities I generally agree with you. However, I have a one year old who doesn't nap well and we often end up holding him to get him to sleep. During that time I get tired of browsing the web and enjoy watching twitch streams of whatever game I'm into.

We got two of these and when a baby just isn't happy, I'll put one in one of these and kind of bounce while playing. Sometimes the wife and I are just walking around, each with a kid in the carrier.

I'm guessing that thing is worth its weight in baby.

I've played with some guys that have had some funny baby stories. Of course they were too embarrassed to mention what was going on while we were playing until the next day or something.
I've only watched a few streams, and it has only been recently while "hanging" out with the wife when I "wasn't" allowed to game. I was bored. What I ended up seeing was the absolute craziest way to play the game I play the most. Like, I would have never imagined this game could be played that way.

I've Twitched a few times while other AVS'ers were at work, and they watched it. I would probably enjoy tuning in as well if at work and they were Twitching.

On another note, I'm not impressed with Sony's PS4 launch. My main game, BF4, is just basically unreliable on console. Unfortunately, the bad experiences are out weighing the good experiences for me at this point. The game has been a bomb on console, IMO.

I understand that some people, and friends that I respect really like the PS4 so far. They have managed to find a lot of games. Well, I haven't.

I can't believe the lack of good multiplayer games to play with friends. And, I find it a little perplexing the lack of multiplayer games in the pipeline. Many of my friends have switched over to Xbone for multiplayer.

Obviously Sony rushed things. I mean, Gran Turismo 4 is not even available...and they just came out with it. (On one hand I support them for not pushing a game to consumers that flat out doesn't work...like my BF4...but you've honestly got to be kidding me...it's like Sony's top game, and when I purchased I figured it as a no brainer, and it was one of the reasons I purchased the fairly PS4 blindly).

(There's also no Nascar '14, BTW.)

There's just nothing, IMO, that my friends list is in consensus with. Guess I should pick up Killzone, but I wonder if I am too late (I was too numb to preorder my PS4 and I started out a month behind everyone), but even Killzone is divided among my friendslist where some of them can't get into it.

I've got FIFA '14. It's probably fine for at home 1v1 with a friend, but it obviously is not a big multiplayer game to play with online friends.

So what should I trade it for?

What games should I get? (I'm really not into single player games)

We (everyone in their 30's posting here including myself) are probably the last generation that can stop the social media epidemic, for ourselves and our "next gen" as parents. Lets make it happen. I'm doing my part. No one cares and its really a bad influence for our children.

Not to mention the obvious but just read up on all of the really bad things that FB, Google, etc. do behind the scenes with your data if you have any doubts and think posting is just a fun way to keep up with friends and family.

MPH there are several PS4 MP choices: COD Ghosts, KZ, NFS, Final Fantasy, Warframe, Dead Nation, Mercenary Kings, and maybe Trine. Not sure you would like any of them or not though. Plus you've got TF on PC which I think Ben does to. Hopefully Planetside 2, War Thunder, and Driveclub are right around the corner. Its SP but Trials is a blast and has a bit of MP by sharing tracks and seeing friends ghosts running the track. There's always getting an xbone if you just cant find something else to play.

Around here PS4s are also on shelves now. It looks like demand has been met in my area. I've seen them locally now at several stores along with the XBOnes. So anyone that wants one of either console can easily get it now.

Same here for me. For about a month now any store that I have walked in that sells video games have had PS4s sitting on the shelves. I have even seen the camera lately.

Have you ever tried online team play? I tried it with NHL and it was a blast, although I am not a big hockey fan. In NHL you can have up to 6v6 all played by humans, in FIFA I believe you can have all 11v11 humans although I have no idea if that is common...

Since you have the game, if you haven't already, might be worth giving it a shot.

Me, personally, I generally play single-player games. I've actually been playing a lot of Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark (PS3 PS+ free game) recently. I never would have bought it but since it was free picked it up and I'm fairly addicted. I also need to finish off a couple of Infamous trophies (the annoying smoke dash ones) to Platinum it, which would be my first...
