You can pre-order digital now. I'm asking because I would like to pre-load destiny, but I want to use amazon and not PSN. I don't want to put my CC info into PSN.

I have the disc copy already on order, but I would cancel it for the digital if I can take advantage of the preload. Otherwise, there's no reason to change.

The only digital pre-ordering I've done at a third party has been through greenman gaming and they send the code on the day of release. Except for today, I just received the code for Dead Rising 3 through them, which is a first. Allowing me to preload it.
have not done any digital pre-order, but I assume it should be same as regular digital with the coding coming a day or two before release to allow for pre-loading. If I'm not mistaken Amazon is technically now just reselling via PSN, so you should get the code soon as you buy.

PSN doesn't have my CC info any more. I just get the PSN gift cards to add money to my account. It has worked out well so far.

I have both connected to a Sammy 60F8500 plasma and prior to the recent PS4 firmware update that added 3D-BR compatibility I would have voted for the PS3 if forced to choose only one (I really like my 3D BR's ).

Now that they are effectively equal compatibility wise I have to go with the PS4 for a fairly significant reason; there have been 2 BR's discs that my PS3 simply refuses to play. The first was The King's Speech and the second Led Zeppelin's Celebration Day. After several attempts with each disc on the PS3 that all ended in failure I successfully watched both on my PS4.

No idea what the PS3's issue is, plays all my other BR discs just fine, but given my personal experience I'd state the PS4 is now the better BR player.

They have a 'pay with Paypal' option now thru the PS store. Slightly safer & way more convenient than giving out CC #'s to PSN. Change your Paypal password every few months if you still don't feel secure enough

I'm down to just Square Enix having my CC. Having one on file with Sony is a gamble if I get drunk...so there's other reasons for not having convenience

Plus the PS3 can't play Dolby True HD from a 3D BD(it plays the legacy DD instead). The PS4 does not have this limitation.

Thanks for the note, never knew that. I always kinda wondered why some 3D movies played in regular DD. To double check I just loaded Avatar in my PS3 and it does output DTS-MA no problem. So apparently the issue is only with DD True HD for some reason, wonder why that is?
