Yea you both confirm. It's almost exactly like Microsoft Lync 2013 if you use that at work. We both get in a party, I set the share, you choose to join, I set the permission level, you enjoy. I like that chain of events, do not want some random ahole just joining my chat and taking over my console. This way everything is deliberate.

Ah ok...so this really isn't a way to lend someone else a game while you're not playing, more a way to let someone join in with a game that you're playing?

Yea you can see each others screen so to speak. It's very much like or is a remote desktop. We even played some Ghosts local coop style and Dash played MP as me remotely. So you can backseat drive very easily. And a big fat no to a shared library. I'd bet this was already a tough sell to pubs so every limitation they could put in probably lubed the works. I think the next Far Cry let's you share a bit but that's on Ubi for that choice.

So is the one hour limit for takeover play only or also for "local" coop

For example player 2 via shareplay vs me in a game of Madden; Would we have to worry about the game going over one hour

What is the meaning of life?

Yup. But you pause the game and just restart the share. It's not a per game thing it's a per remote session. So the clock starts when the remote starts hence the bit of wiggle I mentioned a few posts back. Not all games work, Ground Zeroes being the only one blocked so far. Oh you get blackouts when notifications pop like someone joining a party and I'm assuming trophy pops. It's not major just the area of notification but fyi.

Edit: you can't record parts of GZ either so I'm assuming it's all tied together.

I just hope they fix standby mode soon. I've tried every "fix" I've seen online and nothing works for my console. Standby is completely broke.

YouTube sign in is screwy as well. In share settings, it says my PSN and YouTube accounts are linked but, in the YouTube app is says I'm not signed in and will not let me sign in. Yesterday the error message was something like "this feature is not available at this time."

I wonder why it works for some and not for others? Standby or whatever they call it now seems to be working fine on my PS4.

And actually I noticed it can go to a lower power state now. It's using less than half the power that it did before in standby. I guess since there is now an option to turn power off to the USB ports when in standby.(I don't know if that option was there before but I only just noticed it after the 2.0 update)

I had the Rest Mode issue last night. Powered off (with the power button, holding it down), restarted, it did the startup check, and seems fine. So I'm now just shutting it off, until this gets resolved. Not a huge issue to me, but it is annoying.

Yep, me too. It just baffles me that they release a patch with this problem. There's no way they didn't notice this, is there? It's not like this is some obscure function that might slip by testers. (shrug) Oh well, just gonna shut down the system each night.

"Where's the Imp???" "SHUTUP!!"

Shyte happens sometimes. You test what you can but even the best test cases fail. We've had some rollouts here at work fail recently which testing should have showed but didnt. You get in the wild outside of the clean room and who knows.

Yea after reading the posts, I just went right to "Power Off". Haven't even tried "Rest Mode" yet.

I'll check out the YouTube functionality tonight as well.

Themes are pretty cool, but we need more. I'd also like to see custom themes like PS3 as well but I guess that will come after more USB file ability.

Several free themes already available. A new blood red spiral theme is just the thing to wash away all that blue. Looks like some theme elements are allowed to go in front of the main menu icons.
I did not have any trouble with rest mode. New youtube app is best youtube app yet.

I like the Destiny theme. I hope they add many more themes soon.

Although I guess the next step would be premium themes that they charge for?

If YouTube still doesn't work...pull up googles page and under security revoke PSN. Then on the PS4 log back in. Worked for me. Shamelessly stolen advice from GAF.

Quick note on DS4 thumbstick wear warranty replacements, I dropped mine off at the post office last Friday and had the refurbished replacement back in my hands yesterday. I think the USPS Priority shipping charge was about $6 out of my pocket. So all and all fair play on Sony's part in my opinion.

Do you have multiple YouTube accounts tied to the same email address? I do (because they used to be separate YouTube and Google accounts, then Google tried to force a merger of the two), and I have the same problem when I try to connect the account that I use for browing YouTube.

When I log in with my email address and password, it lists two different accounts. Annoyingly, if I select the one that I don't use for browsing YouTube, it logs me in but doesn't show the subscriptions, likes, or watch history that's associated with the other account. If I log out and try to select the other, used-with-YouTube account, it either gives me a "something went wrong" or the "not available at this time" message.

I've had to go back to using the PS4's web browser and the TV interface (youtube.com/tv), which lets me browse YouTube in way that works with the controller and connects to all my history/subscription feeds.

The article uses the dollar sign ($) and not the yen sign (¥) so I assume it is dollars, not yen.

Wow!! Then a loss of over 2 Billion US dollars for the fiscal year is a lot. Microsoft just had $5.8 billion in profit for only one quarter.

I guess the Sony article did say

It also suspended its dividend -- the first time it won't be making a payout since it listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 1958
I guess if the PS4 wasn't doing so well then Sony would have many more problems.

I wonder if Sony is clearing a profit on the PS4's. If not, the PS4's success could be contributing to the loss.
