Does anyone know if the PS4 does 24hz like the Sony blu-ray players for Netflix and Amazon, or just 1080p/60hz output?

Has the 24Hz setting been fixed. Whenever I tried enabling 24fps the picture and audio would be out of sync.

At the very least I will upgrade to a PS4 Slim. Just for the lower power usage and lower heat output. Especially if I can get a $200 trade in for my 2013 PS4.

If you want games to run at better framerates, scale to 4k AND support HDR then you upgrade. If not, just use what you have. There is no info on what the HDR update for the current PS4 consoles will entail. Will they do HDR gaming or just streaming? We don't have those details.

The new firmware also brings with it support to add folders to the PS4 UI to store your apps and games in convenient locations. Finally!

That Horizon Zero Dawn game looked pretty amazing. And I'll be interested to see if the HDR upgrade will work for anything other than Netflix. If games, how will that work? My TV is not HDR, but it does allow a wider color gamut, so I would look forward to color improvements. It is a 4k TV, so I have some incentive to upgrade, but will likely not. $400 is a lot to pay when I already have a PS4, and I doubt that I could get much on a trade-in, but I dunno. I want to try the HDR upgrade, though!

Initially I couldn't see a reason to upgrade, but getting games to run at 1080p on a projector will probably push me over.

How does a company that pushes 4K, HDR and helped solidify bluray as the victor of a format war with the PS3 not include a uhd disk player in their 4K HDR console!?!?!? WTF! It makes no sense.
I've been waiting for the ps4k to be released so I could finally retire my 60g fat PS3. I still may, but I have way less reason too now.

That's my question. They were one of the creators of Blu Ray, let alone UHDBD. It is completely and utterly mind-boggling that they are leaving it out.

Yes right now. But they also periodically have trade in deals. As does Best Buy and Target. I just hope that someone has a $200 trade in deal sometime over the next couple of months. if any one does, then they will get my business. Although I'd prefer it to be Gamestop since the trade in value reduces the tax on the total purchase.

I think we should all raise hell, boycott, and start a petition for Sony to add a UHD player to the Pro. We're the consumer and we have the money and power!

Seeing as the Pro is only a mild facelift/upgrade, and with Scorpio due end of 2017, I'm hoping we'll see a PS5 around Xmas 2018
