I need help to solve this issue. I'm piggy backing on a friends Wi-Fi system. but the signal percentage constantly jumps ur and down making it ware everything shuts down to the point ware it freezes and locks up or shuts down the system. I've moved it all over my apartment. still nothing. I live in a basement style apartment and the same issue happens to my cell phone also.what can I do to fix this problem and keep it fixed.

Easiest option would be to see what router he has and possibly buy your buddy a better router to try. The other option would be to hard wire if that's a possibility.

Or get a Powerline adapter.

The signal would travel from the basement to the neighbors room via the powerlines.

Some fancier models have wireless receivers on the ends.
