Seems like I've noticed something in the Xbox 360's dash where you can specify a control style for certain genres so games that can utilize that information automatically select the control layout you prefer.
I suspect he's asking if there's something similar on the PS3 where if one prefers to set their games to easy, default, or maximum difficulty you can select that setting and have it applied to games you play in the future without manually adjusting it for each game.
The Atari 7800 from 1986 had difficulty switches. But that was mostly for backwards compatibility with the Atari 2600. And I've seen AI specific adjustments in games over the years. Racing games for instance with an AI slider with other difficulty related factors like damage levels, rules, and so on being separate options.
