Link broken.
Speaking of (totally unrelated) video game-based movies, the recently released (straight to video) Mass Effect Paragon was a dud, I thought. It's like they turned the Mass Effect universe into a Saturday morning kids cartoon.

So there was a trailer released today...

Am I crazy or does that look like a pretty big downgrade from the game cutscenes made seven years ago:

The movie really suffers from the lack of Andy Serkis as Bohan. Plus it seems like they created this brother character just to have a male lead. They could have stitched together the game's cinematics with some new animation and had a really good film.

I wouldn't expect a direct-to-video movie to have animation as good as the game's cutscenes. As for stitching together the original cutscenes with some new material, that would probably look weird unless they used the original engine to render the new material.

I guess that is expecting too much. Though I imagine Sony would have access to the resources used to make the game.

They also could have gone with the style used in the animated series. That was very unique and cool looking.
